  1. I am using 1.9.2.1035 because the 1.10 update kept crashing no matter what settings I had.

I am averaging about 2-3 crashes per photomanipulation session - both with hardware acceleration on and off. I am not sure where to find the Dump files after a crash otherwise I'd post them. Is anyone else having this issue? Designer does not seem to have this issue but Photo has been for a while now and it is starting to get old at this point.

    Windows 10

    Nvidia SUPER RTX 2070

  2.  So I have started having many crashes since updating to 1.10. Usually when I try to use FX or the Mesh/Perspective tools though sometimes it happened when I was simply resizing things.

All drivers are up to date. I tried with GPU acceleration off, then on and neither altered the problem. So I downgraded back to the previous version :(  Did lose about 30 minutes of work though :(

  3. This did not happen before, but now every time I finish drawing a line (black) with the Vector Pen Tool and my Tablet, I go to fill the new shape (Red). When I click the Vector Pen Tool, the stroke is now RED instead of black, forcing me to constantly switch back to black. This is the first time I've seen the color change based off of whatever color I used to fill a shape. Does anyone know how to keep the black as default and stop changing?

  4. I am using a wacom tablet to draw in Affinity Designer and any time I use the VECTOR BRUSH TOOL and select a Brush Texture (like pencil or acrylic), the Vector Brush Tool is forever stuck on Textures. I cannot get it to return to the default Vector lines without closing the program and re-opening it and it's becoming rather irritating. Can we get this fixed down the line?

The only way I've found to get back to the regular, solid (vector) line using the brush tool was to close and re-open Affinity Designer.

When I want to work with uniform, solid, vector hand drawn lines I resort to the pencil tool instead of the brush. While it has it's own set of issues (it still won't auto close a shape, you can vary the width in a single line, etc) I've found it to be easier/more reliable to work with than the brush tool.

That sounds very irritating. I really hope this gets fixed.

There is an "Revert defaults"-Button on the menu-bar, the fifth from left (on windows), it looks like a "cloud" with a stroke.

Do I have to do this for every line?

And also - really quickly. I am trying to draw lines using brushes. I select the brush for Hair, make a line with pen tool. But then it just makes the same settings of line as my last image. I have to keep clicking on the Brush Hair icon to revert it. Any idea why this is? Do I always have to keep clicking on the appropriate brush to get the line to change to it? Or can i select it then start using the pen tool to make several lines?

  7. Okay, so in Affinity Designer, let's say i click on an object I created. I goto STROKES -> PRESSURE then adjust the pressure to whatever look I want. I finish, hit Escape, goto the Pen tool to make the next lines. The problem is, the Brush is still on the STROKE/PRESSURE of the previous line. I have to now goto STROKES -> PRESSURE -> RESET to get it back to normal.

This also happens when I remove a Stroke. I click the object, goto STROKE, his the \ to remove the stroke, then fill the color. But now when I goto PEN to make a new line, the stroke is still turned off and I have to reactivate it.

How do I make it so every new line has the pen revert back to it's default state? Or have I been approaching my lines all wrong when it comes to hiding strokes and adjusting pressure?

  8. So, I am learning vectoring, coloring, etc with Affinity Designer and I am reading some tutorials on different projects I want to try. One such tutorial has steps to blend 2 colors together then extract the shades from the blend to create a palette. The steps for Illustrator are listed in the attachment and I am wondering if Design has the same ability?

  9. I am sure this is mostly user error but it would be appreciated if someone can point out if I am doing something wrong.

So I use the Color picker alot. The problem is, every time i sample a color, it moves to the background circle on the color panel. This means when I goto my pixel or paintbrush, I have to switch the foreground and background colors every time to get the color I picked.

Am I just missing something when I am trying to sample colors? I apologize if this is something simple that I am just messing up on :(

You can see I sampled the color gray/blue on the color picker. It shows it on the front most color circle.

But then when i select another tool, it moves it to the background color forcing me to switch it every time.

Is there just an option I keep missing? I appreciate the assistance.

  10. So this is a brand new issue I just started having. I am doing pixel work and whenever I move or flip the image, or even merge two layers, the pixels suddenly become a blurred mess. I am not even resizing them. They just blur randomly whenever I try basic editing. This pixel work is very important for the game I am working on but this blurring problem is stopping my entire production :(

The same blurriness also occurs whenever I move these around the canvas if there is objects on the background.

    Please help.

  11. So I have a shape and I am trying to make sure the text I put to the side of it is perfectly centered to the with the shape. I know photoshop has something like this with their grids that show a line when you reach the top portion, bottom portion, or center of an object you are moving the item nearby. Does Affinity do the same?

Photo from my website to show what I mean. See how the purple lines appear when I move my text over the bar on the bottom letting me know they are centered against each other?

Thanks everyone! loving the program so far.
