Lon in MacArkansas got a reaction from paulfromaustralia in Introduce Yourself
Hi all. Lots of familiar names. I can't even spell MAC, and I've never even touched one. So, I'm on the lookout for an inexpensive MacBook hereabouts. The Mac side of Serif intrigues me, and I'd like to get in on the ground floor of this.

Found a 15" MacBook Pro, with 4GB RAM, 320GB HD, and running latest version of Mavericks, for $300 USD. Will go and get it this afternooon. That should run all of this software, and also provide the portability. Will let you know how I get on with this.

Thanks, Hils. I have a smaller laptop PC, and have great difficulty with seeing everything as well as I'd like. I think I'm going to take Marilyn's suggestion and get the MacBook laptop (13", I think) for portability and a bit more current specs (2009 model MacBook), but then get a stand-alone monitor, for when I need larger screen size. I saw that Walmart has full HD Acer 20" monitors for just under $100-USD. That's probably going to be the ticket.
