Fixx reacted to a post in a topic: Selection modifier shortcuts are confusing
-
Hi Chris. Thanks for the understanding. I would pass it on to the development team that using the right mouse buttons for stuff that is not usually used for (context menus for example) can lead to unintuitive functionality and frustrations. One of the best thing about this up as is that it feels instantly intuitive and natural to people who used PS/AI before.

I go in to do a simple operation: merging some rectangular selections. Draw the first selection, then start drawing the second Using Ctrl, Shift or Alt didn't seem to work. I look at the tooltips and it says "Drag + RightMouse". What? Never before have I seen this combination, I had to do 2 attempts to get it right since my brain was still stuck in the "wait? what? " phase Consistency is golden. Ctrl, Alt and Shift have been used as modifiers for over a decade, having this new and unintuitive selection coming out of nowhere is confusing. I get that you might more than those 3 selectors but that's why you can combine the modifiers (ctrl + shift, ctrl + alt + shift etc).

It would be very useful if I could lock/unlock layers quickly like in PS/AI by pressing and dragging over the lock layer checkbox.

Where can I find the changelog for the latest version?

Feedback From a Xara User

"The UI is very Adobe-like and I just can't see that as a good thing." Familiarity. The ability for anyone who knows PS/AI to open this and get right into it. -
An option to hide handles and bounds of objects?
mirkea replied to VectorCat's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
+1 for having this ideally as a passive feature Let me use this example which illustrates the problem quite well: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/dapxqwlf118c13g/shot_161128_125140.jpg - I have a rectangle with a stroke color - I want to drag on the color wheel until I;m happy - as it stands now I can NOT see the border color which is frustrating - and holding space is not exactly a good solution: I want to drag until I find a color I'm happy with, right now I need to; drag, see if it's good, drag, see if it's good, repeat until happy with result The way I see this feature implemented is that once an object is selected, changing its properties should hide its bounding box -
Hi. I'd rather not make a new topic for this: how are updates handled? Does it have an auto-update system?

Hi I want to know if there is a way to select which artboard should be imported when placing a file in Affinity Designer. Let's take the following real world scenario: I want to make the design and user flow for a mobile app, so I will usually need the following files "views" - here are all the views from the app, each on its own separate artboard "user_flow" - here I will have all the views with comments, arrows and such indicating the user flow in the app (login view takes me to the homepage view and register view, that sort of thing) Now, I can mass export the artboards from the "views" file as individual images, and then in the "user_flow" file use place image and add each image individually. Next time I want to update the "user_flow" with the latest "views" I will need to re-export the artboards. What would be rather brilliant is if there was a way to select which artboard I want when placing a file. This way I wouldn't have to export everything as static images and the user_flow file would always be up to date. Is there a way to do that? PS: thumbs up for this amazing product. I've been waiting for 5+ years for some proper alternatives to PS/AI
