I'm having an issue where some lines have a higher line-height if I want it on a single line as attached. Its properly a simple thing, but I've tried all settings in the character and paragraph panel without luck. Same with holding down keys which works on Wordpress. Anyone who can help? I'n Photoshop I remember I would make a small image (lets say a grid on a transparent background) and make it a fill-layer, so I later on could put it as an overlay on for instance a hero image. I can't seem to find a similar function in AD, but as its a brilliant app I would think its just hidden somewhere under a new name?

Grid and UI
Morten_Hjort replied to Morten_Hjort's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
Thanks! Yeah it could work! I figured out to do a "transparent" margin for each box and then use the constrain-tool to make sure only the inside content scales, so the margin is at a fixed size. -
Grid and UI

Almost what I tried to write at least, but I can see its not that easy to figure out :) I want equal spacing between the content-boxes in both lines. The space is equal for each row, but not when comparing both rows. Does it make sense? -
Grid and UI
Morten_Hjort replied to Morten_Hjort's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
Thanks, but ain't that just for equal distances between objects? -
I'm used to design straight in code, but in a new job I now have to do the UI design and pass on to the developers, which makes using Affinity Designer for UX/UI more obvious. However when I need to design boxes in a grid its important for me to show the same spacing no matter if 3,4,5 boxes in a row. Something css "margin" takes care of. How can you recommend my approach in AD when the size if the boxes ain't as important as the space between? You can see a screenshot of the issue here: https://cl.ly/3r1e20273D1A

Wow hadn't found the Assets before even though I did look for some Sketch-like functions. Is it possible to change how the thumbnails look? It can be tricky to recognize assets when theres only a thumbnail showing the left side.

Thanks for the good answers and questions. I've got my first Mac in 1992 and always liked the simple and minimalistic approach Apple made with their computers. When I changed from iOS to Android a few years ago that was a big step for me tech-wise, and I've not regretted that change at any point at all. So when my Mac crashed a month ago I looked into how far the Windows computers where in terms for design and I could quickly see that series like Dells XPS-series looks even better than the MBPs. So when Apple upped the pricing today and released a computer with yesterdays tech, I'm bummed and very serious thinking about doing the change to MS like it seems almost all other Mac customers writing on forums are doing (but lets see whats happen in reality). But in the end I dont care about hardware and I need a solid and great performing working software and thats why I ask. Since Affinity releases the software on Mac first, I'm not keen to switch to Windows if it doesnt work well there. However if I get the same experience, I have a hard time to figure out why I should pay for a new Apple product.

As so many others, I was waiting on a new Mac as my old crashed for good, but got quite disappointed with the new Macbook Pros. I've always used Mac and Affinity Designer is one of the most used apps. but now I seriously consider a Windows computer. So in short: how comparable in features are the Windows vs Mac version of Affinity Designer? Just spend about 100€ on Photo and Designer, but it might be now to make the switch to the evil Windows :(

Snapshots in Affinity Designer
Morten_Hjort replied to specworkfan's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Just curious, how does a snapshot affect the filesize? Does it double it pr Snapshot (if the same content is shown)? Its a brilliant feature!
