Sorry, I still don't understand... Are you talking about Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer? -
Icloud app backup
Five Photos replied to Nada's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Hey Nada, I might be able to help you as I spent a lot of time figuring everything out with Apple Photos, the iCloud Photo Library, and how all that works together with Affinity. But I don’t understand your question. Can you be more specific please and tell me about your setup, too? -
Affinity Photo for iPad - 1.6.5
Five Photos replied to Patrick Connor's topic in News and Information
This feature is still missing: But honestly – after posting it a couple of times by now – I have given up on getting an answer if you are working on that or not... Thanks for the new release anyways! -

Affinity Photo for iPad - 1.6.4
Five Photos replied to Patrick Connor's topic in News and Information
Thanks for the big update! Great work! Unfortunately the new version does neither resolve this bug nor add this feature we are so desperately waiting for. Any timeline for that? Thank you Patrick -
I watched all the Affinity Photo video tutorials and I love them. However, I do have additional questions, input and feedback and I thought that's what your forums are here for. I mean, at the end of every video it actually says to "not hesitate to ask additional questions on the Affinity forums". Unfortunately, though, it seems that the forum activity for many topics is very low. Don't get me wrong, I can only imagine that moderating forums like these is quite hard and time consuming. But at the same time I am pretty frustrated that there's not more support available. Am I asking the wrong questions? Am I not making myself clear (English is not my native language)? Is there a better way to ask questions and provide feedback? I currently have two unanswered topics that are, in my opinion, pretty important issues for everybody using Affinity Photo. One is about the missing essential feature to save edited images back to Apple Photos and the other is about a potential bug on Affinity for iPad when it comes to importing images into a stack. Both have one to zero replies and I obviously wasn't able to start a vivid discussion about my issues. I started more topics in the past which also had very few replies. I wonder where, if not here, the discussion is happening?

Thanks @stokerg. Okay let's hope for the best. @John Rostron : Yeaaaah.... I don't use any Adobe products and I don't really want to In the meantime, I found a pretty good EXIF editor for the Mac. It's called Image Exif Editor and it does the job. I especially like the clone function which one can use to copy the EXIF data from the first image of a stack to the edited photo from Affinity. The app can be purchased in the Mac App Store for about 11 bucks. There's also a free version available (good for testing).

I just noticed that the EXIF data is being preserved when one does a HDR Merge. However, in a "normal" Stack none of the EXIF data is being taken over. Why is it like that and where is the logic behind this? (Also, if anybody knows about a good EXIF editor for Apple Photos on the Mac the tip would be highly appreciated...)

I just watched the very interesting tutorials about channels and how to apply selections to such. This is a simple question: could somebody please explain me the difference of storing a selection in a channel rather than as a mask? What are the main differences, advantages, or disadvantages? Thanks.

EXIF date on export setting
Five Photos replied to captain13chris's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
In the current version of Affinity Photo, the creation date still is being changed to the date and time of the export. Is there no way to preserve the capture date in the EXIF information? -
Hey Affinity team, The minimum 4 characters rule for forum searches is kind of ridiculous. Just a few examples for very common abbreviations one would use to find the desired topics: RAW HDR Nik All below 4 characters and therefore those words don't work in the forum search. I would suggest that you lower the minimum to 3 characters. Thanks Patrick

I have the same question / issue. Will there be a solution to this in the future? Does this only happen if one does a lot of editing and therefore the file gets bigger? Also, what do you mean with "there are some other free management apps available...", Lee? Do you mean other DAM apps? And if so, any examples? So far I could not find any good DAM app for the Mac or for iOS.

One of my biggest struggles with Affinity Photo, as well as with other photo editors, is to make a decision wether I should do the majority of my adjustments while developing the RAW file or later in the photo persona. For instance, right now I am working on an image which needs quite a bit sharpening (details), straightening, cropping, heavy exposure and withe balance work, and a gradient overlay to further adjust the sky. I could do all this in the develop persona. But I could also do all this in the photo persona with the benefit, that I can change my values for a specific adjustment whenever I want. I assume there must be a benefit of doing some adjustments in the development persona, but I don't see it. What am I missing? I would like to know what kind of adjustment work you guys are doing in the development persona versus the photo persona for RAW files. Thanks!
-
Thanks, but unfortunately this did not work. Would you please look at the two screenshots? The first one shows a raw image after I've done my adjustments. The second one shows the same image just right after I pressed the blue develop button. The difference is huge! And the assistant was turned off. (It's not a very good milky way shot by the way... I know...)

Hi there. I am an ABSOLUTE BEGINNER in image post processing and pretty confused. When I adjust a raw file to my liking in the develop persona and then click on the blue develop button, it changes my image rather dramatically. I intend to develop a milky way shot. When I press the develop button the image looks very different in the photo persona and a lot of noise is added. Is this normal behavior or do I have wrong settings or the like?
