  1. Hi Alfred, I could lend you some binoculars to see if they help. Silly me! Since posting this comment I have had a little play with my page. I noticed that in the colour wheel you can use RGB and it gives the numbers that I am using. However in layers you can only adjust the colours which show a percentage. I tried entering the umbers from the wheel but the selective colour box won't accept them (it reverts back to percentages). I also noticed that you can use hex with fill and stroke which means that it's only colour balabce or selection for layers doesn't use them. I think that's strange but then it might be me in wanting to do a strange thing!
  2. When I first created the file I C+P the logo over the coloured background. The logo looked dim and tinted with the background. I tried to resolve this by adding a layer with the same colour background as the original rectangle at the top and the bottom of the page. I was then going to draw a white box to create a space between the header and footer. After this I was going to add a "normal" layer and paste my logo on it. I then had a sensible ide which was to add a a normal layer to cover the background and paste the label. Much easier and it worked! However, I did notice that the colour wheel (see attached file) shows a hex number towards the botton right (#FF92CB). I am unable to add this number to the selective colour panel for layers. It's just that if I wanted to make a page the same colour as I have used in the whell ( #FF92CB ) I have to fiddle about with the sliders or draw a rectangle and use colour fill with the same hex number. It would be easier to be able to use hex number for a new layer. By being able to do this it would ensure that all the stationary that I want printed would match. I thought that it would be a good idea to be able to add hex numbers to the selective wheel becuase it can make things a lot easier. I understand that the stationary may not match my website but it woud be good if all the stationary matched and was as near to the background colour of the website as possible.
  3. I am trying to create stationary that matches the colour of my website that I am building. I have the website's hex codes for the colour that I want to use and have used them to create a backgound colour (see attached file). However the logo (designed in infinity) that I have cut and pasted into the header looks a bit pale when compared to my website. I thought that I would try changing the background of a layer and draw a white box between the footer and header to see if that resolves the issue. Unfortunately, the layer colour dialogue doesn't allow Hex to be used. Is there a way to add this feature?
  4. Hi GaryP, I've printed your drawing advice for use with the next plan that I create. What you have said, makes drawing the plans much easier.
  5. My text boxes default is bold. I am unable to change it to normal as the bold button in top bar isn't pressed. If I click on character, I amunable to find an option to switch bold off or to revert to normal print. There is a black option but it is bold. How can I set the text to normal (bold off)? At the moment I'm having to c+p an old frame with normal text. bold taxt not norm.afdesign
  6. Hi, I will adopt a standard for future drawings. Thanks for the advice. The "plans" are only used to give an idea of the property layout. The important information is the measurements for calculating the area of the building. The area is used for calculing fitting and material costs of energy saving schemes like loft insulation or to show the properties energy efficinecy with recommendations of ways to improve it (EPCs). I'm just starting out in this.
  7. Oh dear! I forgot to say that the house is one that I am building for great nephew's pet Gerbils so that he can put them out in the garden during summer. It's what he wants for his birthday! My neice hopes that the cats will find them hence, the very large patio doors! Seriously, The doors are 82cm wide (standard doors). One final question, How do I close a topic?

  9. The screenshot of your second PDF makes me wonder if your PDF viewing app is causing the problem. – How do the corners appear if you open your PDF in Affinity? Interesting ..... It's OK when I open the pdf file in affinity. I am also able to edit the circles on the left which I can't do when I open the affinity file. All I do is select export > pdf and then click on export in the pdf dialogue pop up. It looks like it's saved in the windows pdf reader. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an option for changing the pdf reader. I was in the army at a British Military Hospital in Hannover (Hangover) and Iserlohn. I also visited some German friends in Buende (Herford) a few weeks ago.
  10. Hi Garry, I set up the plan by uploading a copy of the plan that I drew on graph paper. It's not the Affinity grid. I did click to show the affinity grid but the screen became very confusing as I couldn't tell the difference between the two. I did look for a way to see if there is a way to darken the grid but I couldn't find any. Not being able to use the grid wasn't a big problem as I can now use the plan that I have drawn as a template. I have saved the history document but I am unable to check what is in it as it doesn't appear to have downloaded (it's not on my laptop). If the history file is attached you might find three other problems: 1. I watched the plan drawing video that I found in this forum. It says that in order to draw the curve in doors that I need to use the pencil tool and then select a node for shaping it into a curve. Unfortunately, the node tool isn't displayed when I select the pencil tool. It is displayed with the pen tool but I can't bend the straight line (even if I draw it with the pen tool). 2. I am having problems with the text boxes in the circles to the left of the page. With the exception of the top one, when I click on the text with the select tool nothing happens. I've tried selecting and moving the circle (eclipse) but I can't select them either. I also thought of deleting the ones that I can't select but I can't do that either. 3. It looks like I have two text box tools in the side tool box. I can't delete or remove one of them. I've looked in help but it doesn't give any advice. Tony Webb RdSAP plan 1st.afdesign
