  1. Oh, don't get me going on these "praised" macros ;-) ... we might be running out of space trying to finish the sentence "If macros could ..." (Ever tried to change the colour of an object within a macro?)
  2. Thx Callum. 10 days doesn't give much time to experiment, but at least a chance to look into it.
  3. Well, that's not what I really was looking for ... but yes, that's a possible soloution! BTW: is there one command to reduce ALL layers down to one layer (flatten) .. including groups, hidden layers, filter layers ... ?? ("merge visible" keeps the old layers) ... and yes, of course I can manually delete the layers afterwards ...
  4. Yes, sorry, since I'm using the german version of AP I got mixed up with the proper tool names. Of course it's the Inpainting brush tool. The healing brush tool does not show this lag-behaviour.
  5. Hi folks, maybe someone can help me with this one: when applying some (live) filters in Affinity Photo (Win) on a high-res picture i define certain parameters (e.g. "Radius" in the gaussian blur filter). After rescaling the picture e.g. to a small web format the parameters of theses filters are preserved and the picture is fully recalculated - what inevitably results in completly inappropriate parameters for the new pic size. Is there a way to tell AP to recalculate the parameters according to the new picture resolution? Would be nice to have a checkbox that will optionally enable recalculation parameters when resizing. The only way to overcome this problem currently seems to be to flatten all layers and loose all editing information. Cheers, Timo
  6. I was wondering if a 30-day (?) testversion is planned for AP? I personally have purchased the AP for windows, but friends I recommended AP to want to try it out before bying (what is understandable) - and beta versions require a product key as well. Cheers, Timo
  7. Bummer ... that's serious! This topic has been adressed before but noone from the staff commented on it. Either nobody has a slight clue or this topic is of no interest for the development team(?). I do a lot of retouching work so this tool ist one of the major things I use on a frequent base. Even though I bought AP currently this keeps me away from any professional use of AP.
  8. I was hoping to see this serious issue resolved in the new version. Unluckily the InPainting brush in AP is still suffering from lag that makes it simply unusable for professional work. I'm aware that not everyone hast to deal with this effect - on the other side I'm not experiencing anything similar with PS or other products. As well my system requirements should allow a fluent workflow. System config: Win 7 - 64Bit, iCore I7 3770K, 32GB Ram, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 570, Wacom Intuos 4, Affinity Photo 1.5.1.51 Beta See the example video: https://youtu.be/nh3aNvkA8Oc
  9. Hi Chris, I had undocked one window of 4 open documents. When trying to drag this window back to the main program frame I got this unhandled exception.
  10. Hi Chris, the Problem was Beta related. The old beta (.47) had open windows. The new Beta (.51) did open these windows again but they came up with a white doc-background. Opening new documents does not show this behaviour. So closing all old documents and opening them again solved the problem ...
  11. Thanks for the new Beta! Is there any way to change the document background in a document window (UI) from white back to gray/black? I cound not find any settings in the UI preference ... and this white BG colour is pure torture ... Thx
  12. Sorry Alfred, based on the number of your posts I was assuming you were part of the serif team. Mea culpa ;-) ... I just wonder if many posts her get read by serif staff and there's just not the time to leave a note - or if efforts are wasted since input gets no acknowledgement ... I really would like to see AP stepping up to beeing a proper PS alternative but this obviously still takes significant changes and obviously time ... I'd be more than happy to provide some of the necessary input help serif getting it there ... but keeping ambition up needs a certain feedback, elsewise I can spend my time in far more useful tasks ... And yes, I'm aware there have been many posts by many people concerning these issues (it's not my first one either), but hardly any feedback - so noone even knows wether the feedback landed on the official suggestion or even to-do list for AP.
  13. I wonder wether these and many more significant usability issues I mentioned earlier (e.g. windows apperance, zoom, restauration) will be adressed by the development team ... Since the only comment of Alfred was on naming conventions I wonder if anything else was taken note of by the dev. team / prod. managers? Maybe usability for the daily working base has no priority? I know that you guys are very busy sorting out bugs but it would be helpful to get a general feedback how you intend to deal with theses sugestions/issues. Thx in advance.
  14. How do you deal with resizing parametrised filter layers? Am I doing something completly wrong?
  15. I think I provided a good system component description with a reasonably powered system on 1st of Jan. So if AP performance problems were related to the system that could have been a good starting point. COnsidering it is not only 1 person experiencing the same problem it might of course be related to a local system configuration - but on the other hand this specific configuration happens often enough not to blame it on a single computer or user! From my perspective a good reason to look into the code again. Certainly knowing that these kind of problems do not occur with PS and other photographic/pixel related programs. Chris, thanks for you comment. Desperately waiting for the new update. Just my 2 cents, Timo
  16. I had AP (the 1.5.47 beta on Win 7 - 64bit) crashing when exporting preferences in the exporting dialog:
  17. I do get this effect on the 1.5.1.47 Beta as well. I'll have to wait 5-10 Seconds and after that I can continue "working" - until it happens again. (Working on Win 7 - 65Bit, iCore I7 3770K, 32GB Ram, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 570, Wacom Intuos 4)
  18. I hope so too. From a professional point of view for me AP is not usable in an productive environment yet.
  19. Am I the only one having this problem?
  20. I'm working with an Intuos 4 on 64Bit Windows 7 System (32GB Ram) Did turn of the History and Layers Panel - the effect still remains. Here's a sample video showing the delay when using the retauration brush: https://youtu.be/wYtGhz-5BsE Cheers, Timo
  21. Of course ... IMG_7125-2.afphoto
  22. Adding some more input: 1) Entries in a library can't be moved to the last entry within a folder nor moved into another folder (even though the drag & drop symbol is shown) 2) Would be nice to assign a Library entry to a keyboard shortcut. 3) I do struggle with the behaviour of open parameter windows. They are either part of an open document - or part of a global setting. But within AP they open and close as they like. Changing to another document closes them, but they don't open again, when you return to the document. This is all very inconsequent. I wish they had an "Cancel" and "OK" button. I like the "preview" feature, but want to decide and confirm wether a change of parameter is wanted or not. And once this decision is made there is absolutely no reason for the windo to stay open and occupy desk space any longer. 4) In general every active Window should be able to properly react on the ESC key (Close as in "Cancel") as well as the RETURN key (as in "OK") and after that close. These are basic Windows style guide issues. Hope, that my input gets read by anyone :-) Cheers, Timo
