  1. Hi, Thanks for getting back. This no longer happens in either Mac or Windows versions, so I guess the problem has been fixed.
  2. Hi, When I uncheck 'Show Margins' they only go a little dimmer and do not disappear like the guides do when unchecking 'Show Guides'. Also, in the windows version, only page one's margins disappear: there are no master pages set up in this instance in either case.
  3. I have the same problem and had to select 2 or 3 different styles before the drop cap, for example, would go away - then I could choose the style I wanted. This does not happen all the time, but enough to be annoying.
  4. This may be of help and perhaps you won't need to go to 175%. Although it mentions only Adobe programs, I use it successfully on others too (usually). https://www.danantonielli.com/adobe-app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix/
  5. In that case, just asking, why isn't the full name spelt out in in the drop-down? There is room because you have 'Show Baseline Grid Manager' that is much longer than just 'Studio'. Personally, I prefer the term 'Window' as per InDesign, which is more intuitive for a computer user than 'Studio'.
  6. Hi all. Caveat - It may be just me. Right Side Bar: The paragraph styles appear in the 'Paragraph' tab styles drop down - all good there. However, the paragraph styles also appear In the 'Text Styles' tab drop down. I cannot edit the paragraph styles by double clicking the style in the 'Paragraph' tab, but only when I select the 'Paragraph Style' from the 'Text Style' tab drop down. The 'Show in both panels' is not checked and the radio button 'Paragraph' is selected in the 'Edit Text Style' dialogue box - which should be 'Edit Paragraph Style', surely? The text styles do not appear in the paragraph styles, the radio button 'Text' is selected - so that works ok. So what seems to be happening is: The 'Paragraph' radio button in the 'Edit Text Style' dialogue is directing the style to be saved in the 'Text Style' tab and the 'Paragraph' tab. The style in the 'Paragraph' tab drop down is not recognising a double click to open the 'Edit Paragraph Style' dialogue. Also, 'mouse-over' does not change the 'text style' in either the text tool bar or tab drop down as it does for the paragraph styles, this means you have to left-click the text style to see the effect. Thanks, sorry if it sounds confusing.
  7. Hi everyone, Thanks for your comments. Yes I did start a new document - Thanks Bobaffinity Thanks Darren I didn't know that. MEB, I guessed that after, though to be fair I think the post I read - which pointed me to the link did say it wouldn't affect the download trial, hence I thought it would work, thanks anyway. --- However ... on starting up this morning the program seems to be working, the colour of the icons is brighter; I don't know maybe I downloaded it from the twilight zone but it seems to be working, so all good. If I have any problems "I'll be back"
  8. Hello all, I am new to Affinity and downloaded the trial and watched an intro video. The program does not work properly for me: Cannot select any tools by clicking Holding the M key and clicking a shape selects that one, doing the same and selecting another gives a random shape Pressing T will enable the text ansd on clicking the text box tool I can write text but then nothing else, it won't deselect so any keyboard short cuts just type in the box No other tool seems to work. I followed a link to a beta, as advised to an OP in another thread having similar trouble and who was using the trial French version; but this won't run as it wants a paid for installation - so no good there. I have a Mac Pro (Mid 2010), 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 16gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB running El Capitan v10.11.3. In the words of the Dilbert disaster recovery plan "Help! Help! Help!" - please and thank you.
