  1. Much of what I've come across over the past day or so reminds me why I don't often visit "forums"; too many shouty people (or I assume they are people and not some sort of annoying "bot"). Tiresome and makes it almost impossible to sort the wheat from the chaff. I did see this though and I suppose a bit off-topic: Someone recently referred to his solution to a missing DAM (which I recall Serif had and I used when PC based) but seems not to have come across ACDSee. It's really photographer's management/editing tool but recognises that other formats (and programmes) exist and therefore sits nicely alongside the Affinity Suite (and is also available for Mac & Windows although not seamlessly like Affinity) and I switch back & orth all the time. It's not at all costly, offers updates and perpetual licensing if the annual upgrades do not look interesting or the subscription offer is unwelcome. When taken as a Suite it also gives some other nice tools for video etc. Well worth investigating if your OS won't do a DAM thing.
  2. The alternative programme looks interesting for vector work. Will it handle my photo editing and multi-page publishining needs? Can I have one licence for Mac/iPad/Windows?
  3. My life is too short to read all 20 pages of reactions so sorry if I am repeating what others have written. I wish you well but I’m not sure this is a good move for Serif or your Affinity apps. And worrying for us mere users. I’ve looked into Canva previously and just done so again, even to the extent of downloading/installing it, and I suspect you will be drowned out in all the stuff that it throws at its users. Quite bewildering but likely useful for those that like to live in the world of “templates”. It also seems to be quite persitent in urging its users to "go Pro" and pay each month to carry on - exactly why Adobe is such a horror these days. Hopefully Affinity will be marketed as a seperate entity to Canva. I started with Serif when it was a Windows suite (and enjoyed it) and now have the Affinity Universal Licence (Mac/iPad & Windows) so hopefully I'll be able to continue as now even without updates/upgrades after any move to a subscription basis occurs.
  4. Does all this (v2.4.2) mean the problem of Publisher NOT remembering recent files is going to be resolved. Designer & Photo do not have this issue. (iMac 2017 4K 8GB Ventura 13.6.6)
  5. I was encountering the same annoying issue. This solution I followee may or may not be as useful (or correct) for all MacOS! I'm running Ventura 13.6 on an iMac I exited Pub 2, located mru.dat and renamed it mru.dat.old (just in case I needed to retrieve it) and then opened Pub2, loaded and then saved/closed a pub 2 document and exited Pub2 again. I did not try just closing the document. Then I opened Pub2 for a second time, looked at "Open Recent" and the document list was no longer empty (only showing the last file though). I then opened Pub2 App'n Support via the Library and found a new mru.dat file as well as the old, renamed one which I've now deleted. Loading a document via Finder works also (it appears in the list immediately) so it seems to be irrelevant how the document is loaded into Pub2. It seems there is no need to re-boot the machine. Hope this helps. Sorry about all the I's. Next stop: sorting Photo2 & Designer2
