  1. Definitely +1 for the ability to open the RAW file from the Photos app - I would love to be able to edit RAW while travelling and I can't rely on internet connections to upload images to cloud storage - it does seem rather ridiculous that this is the option that's being suggested when many other apps are able to open the RAW file directly. I'm hoping this is actually a bug rather than a feature!
  2. Sorry - ignore the RAW engine question - double checked on the Mac and believe there was an update to the Apple Core engine missing - the CR2s from the Canon G5 X are now loading without distortion.
  3. First impressions - a very impressive piece of software - well worth the price and incredibly powerful - it's going to become an app I use regularly in my photography workflow especially when travelling. One thing that confuses me slightly is the way it handles lens corrections compared to the Mac version. On the Mac, RAW images from my compact camera (Canon Powershot G5 X) are heavily distorted on wider angles on import (using the Affinity RAW engine), but can be corrected in the develop persona. The camera is not supported by the Lensfun guys so I know autocorrect shouldn't work, but if I open the same images on the iPad version, they're corrected and need no further adjustment. Is the iPad app simply using the Apple Core RAW engine to autocorrect? If so, this is strange as selecting that on the Mac version produces some very strange results in Photo. I'm also noticing that raw files (Canon CR2) imported directly to the iPad are loading as the embedded jpgs in Photo - it would be great if I could edit the raw file directly as others have pointed out. Thanks in advance...
  4. I've seen the issue with the Mac 'delete' (backspace) key on Apple wireless / laptop keyboards in the current production version and the betas I've tested (including this one). The fn-delete combination works but as they're at opposite ends of a Mac keyboard it's a pain. This was NOT the behaviour prior to v1.5 so seems to have been introduced with that release. Bug report already logged but no real feedback as yet.
  5. Hi - it would be nice to know that this has been recognised as an issue by Serif and will be investigated....haven't had any feedback from the company since posting this and filing a bug report. Anyone from Serif want to respond? Cheers!
  6. Have confirmed this is a problem with typical small form factor Mac keyboards (Magic Keyboard / MacBook) as they don't have a distinct, separate delete key which the full size USB keyboard has. Have logged it as a bug, as it used to work with these keyboards in previous versions. Thanks
  7. Sorry - probably should confirm this relates to Photo 1.5 on a Mac. I've checked in the keyboard mapping preferences - I'm only seeing 'delete' in the layers section and I've deleted and reset the key. Selecting 'delete' from the layers menu works and the shortcut key is displayed as the Mac delete key. It's a Magic Keyboard and I'm also using a Wacom tablet - I see there have been some issues in layers with these tablets. Later I'll connect a Mac USB keyboard and disconnect the tablet to test further. Thanks.
  8. Hi - thanks for replying. Yes - a layer is selected. The only way I can currently 'remove' a selection is to use the fn-backspace combination (equivalent to 'forward delete') It used to be a one key operation and I haven't changed anything on the Mac.
  9. Hi Either I'm missing something or the backspace key on a Mac keyboard no longer serves to delete a selection. I found this extremely useful in trimming layers - is it still available and disabled in settings somewher or has it been purposely removed? Thanks
  10. Would it have been related to the beta version? - just noticed that the folder creation date is earlier than the release date for the app - just interested and it may be useful for others who were testers and can now remove that folder...
  11. Weird - definitely AP graphics - including the AP icon in various sizes and ui elements. As it doesn't appear on another Mac where AP is installed I'll remove it...Thanks
  12. Hi - I've just noticed that the 'shared' folder (note the lower case 's' so I'm pretty sure it's not the 'standard' OSX 'Shared' folder which exists on multi-user Macs) in my user account main folder contains around 585 image files (including some in 'cursor' and 'ui' subfolders which are definitely related to AP. My question is - is it safe to delete them as they seem to be ui graphics as well as demo images. If they're required by the app I'd suggest that it's not a great place to store them as dumb users (like me) could delete the lot without understanding the consequences! Cheers...
