My suggestion to Affinity on this is: please give this title field a higher priority, move in into view: move the inputfield for it to the document settings. To me that's the place to look for such a thing.

I agree. That was also the place where I expected it to be and where I was looking first, before using the search engine.

    • Affinity Publisher 1.10.4.1198
    • Windows 10
    • reproducable: yes

    Steps to reproduce the bug

    1. Create a text box with a text style (e.g. header 1)
    2. Duplicate it and replace the text, so you can see the bug
    3. Create a table of content, where only elements with text style header 1 are shown
    4. Change the order of the text boxes, so that the first one is behind the second one.
    5. Switch the content of the text boxes.
    6. Update the table of content.

Result: The order in the table of content doesn't reflect the order of the elements in the document (see the attached screenshot).

Expected result: The order should reflect the order of the elements in the document.

I hope, my description is understandable🙂

  2. If such a function could only be activated manually, that would not be a problem :) It would be helpful, if you know that there are only cases of citation, where you don't want the spell checker to be enabled.

In my case I write a German text and use English words in some places. I use quotation marks for them because obviously they are not words of the language I use for the text. And because the language was set to German in Publisher the spell checker underlines all these words with red. It's not the end of the world, but annoying, if I use the checklist for important errors.

  3. Hello,

is it possible to disable spell checking for citations? When I write something like

    Quote

"some text that shouldn't be checked"

I don't want that the content between the quotation marks will be checked. One possible way would be to use a text-style, but that would be very uncomfortable because I would have to apply it to each single citation. And when I apply a style to a whole text, my whole work would be in vain. Is there any other way?

  4. Hello,

I really like Affinity and their products. What I don't like is that Google Captchas are used on the website and the forums, when I want to log in. They are annoying, but - what's worse - they are not privacy-respecting (and not compatible with GDPR). I suggest that you remove the Google Captchas or replace them with privacy-respecting captchas (like for example hCaptcha).

    Greetings,

    Ociel
