  1. Yes, as I read again, I realize how stupid I was. Somehow I looked for the live filters in AD. Well, must be Corona... Thanks again Alfred!
  2. Thank you! That solved the puzzle for me! I did not open the file in AD, but tried to reconstruct it. Since I can open the file simply in AD, I can paint as intended by Paolo. Sometimes the little problems seem without solution, I just didn't even consider to open a photo file in designer to get the live adjustments there. Thanks again!
  3. I try to follow the instruction in the video though I end up with this and don't see to get 3 layers as in the video. What do I do wrong? Anybody with a screenshot to show?
  4. Thanks Ray, that explains a lot. So there must be a way similar to what is shown in the video to achieve results as in Affinity Photo with Affinity Designer. I just sent a message to Paolo Limoncelli and hope he will respond, since I am still lost. Stay healthy, thanks again!
  5. I read the post, I told you already, so why do you come back to it? You are not adding anything to it. And you are not "us", so I don't wait for you to explain. This is the demonstration of how to use the brushes in the video. So which one should it be and if it's like in the video, how do you do this with the latest version, I cannot figure this out even it is "in general" the same as in the old one? Thank you anyway!
  6. I have seen this post and downloaded the file. Though it is not what is explained in the video mentioned. Are you saying, that to use the brushes, all these layers have to be in place first? I doubt this. What I like to see is an easy to follow 'how to' of the brushes in action with the current version of the software. I am not interested in lengthy explanation of the 'in general' function of the brushes, especially when these are not congruent to other instructions. Maybe I should just try to contact the author of the brushes. Thank you anyway!
  7. I have seen this blog post from the year 2015. It is even more confusing and not in line with the explanations on Affinity Spotlight. Thank you anyway!
  8. I purchased the DAUB Watercolour & Washes brush pack and tried to follow the instruction video on how to set up the canvas and the layers to paint. Though the video is referring to a rather old version of Affinity designer and also runs very fast so it's hard to see and I cannot figure out, how to do this in the current version 1.8.3. I am lost and asking for somebody to show me how to get the most of these water color brushes and paper. Maybe someone has even a video about this? (please in sloooow motion for a newbie like me). Thank you so much!
  9. True - it might happen, when you're in the 'wrong' App store or you're not logged in. However this happens as well, when I switch to another App store (the one I'm showing is the Indonesian one). So to me it seems there is a glitch in how all my App stores do not recognize the program or the fact that an update is available. As I mentioned earlier, I went to my purchases in the Indonesian App store and re-installed the program, which solved my problem.
  10. I went to my purchases in the App Store and (re-)installed the program. Problem solved (at least for me).
  11. No update available, no "open", no "update" in the store's description.Something is definitely wrong here - but what? I use version 1.73 on the Mac.
  12. Hi there, I'm a newbie to Affinity Photo and need some help. I'd like to remove some hairs in parts of my image and tried to do so with the Inpaint Brush and the Clone Brush Tool. But I get artifacts, smudge. Obviously I am doing something wrong here. Any advice greatly appreciated! Thank you!
