  1. I am new to this aspect of editing. Can you please advise what AP persona means? It looks like I can't work in RAW for this maneuver and that JPEG might be needed. Thank you in advance for any clarification.
  2. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I don't understand how to import a second photo in the overlays in Affinity Photo. I've seen recommendations to go to file and "place" but there is no "place" in my file drop down menu. Additionally, there were instructions to drag and drop. Also a fail. I'm using a MacBook and I'm attempting to do this in RAW. Do I have to convert images to JPEG before layering?
  3. No it just lightens brightly colored hues. There isn't a place on the spectrum that provides for a true beige or an array of earth tones. Slider does not get any of the colors to beige or white spectrum. I could be missing something here, but I attempted all the sliders, etc.
  4. I wanted to change the shirt color of a man in my photo and did the online tutorial. After selecting the shirt, I opened recolor. The color panel does not appear to have a selection for white or beige. I think I am missing something obvious here, can anyone help?
  5. My Affinity Photo Software only gives JPG options and of them it's auto selected for JPG (Best) which I keep. I upload from my computer directly to instagram (no phone). I think the color format is RGB/16 (this is on preselect in the covert screen in the document menu). I've never used the convert screen in the document menu. Should I be using this (pressing covert)?
  6. Dear Representative, It seems when I upload my photos to instagram, there is a degree of color shift. Can this be prevented from using any particular settings in Affinity Photo? Thank you.-Naima
  7. As I mentioned in my post, I have already downloaded the distressed paper image. However none of the affinity videos explains how the images are imported into affinity after download and from which affinity menu to select the addition. This step is glossed over. How do I get the downloaded images into affinity? Once they are in affinity what menu will allow me to choose the transparency?
  8. The first thing he mentions in the video is that he "puts the paper in" Where did he get the paper from. Was it uploaded from another site? From which menu did he select the paper? I downloaded 50 distressed textures from shutterstock per the instructions in a different video, but I don't understand how to get the textures into affinity or from which menu to select for an overlay. Please help. Thank you.
  9. How do I place a distressed layer over a photograph to make it look antiquated, worn and beatup in Affinity Photo?
  10. Yay!! You are correct. It was the width setting. Thank you so much. Problem solved!
  11. I have to go to work, so can not capture at the moment.. Can you please advise how I can use the context toolbar to resize the brush. I have the toolbar available, just not sure what to select. I also don't understand how to use the bracket keys to change the width. Can you please advise. Thank you.
  12. I'm able to source a color point with the clone brush tool however, once sourced, the brush (which is not a brush, it's a dot) is too large for me to use on a small area of my photo. How do I reduce the size of the dot?
  13. Hi, yes, I have always edited this way based on a video I saw when I first purchased affinity. By selecting a color source and using the selected color source to paint over whatever object or image I'm trying to eliminate. For example if there are people in the water and I want them removed, I selected the water with the clone tool and then paint over the people with the color of the water. I'm not a very technical person and my explanations are likely lacking in specifics or language aspects of more technically evolved users. I figured out the solution to my issue though– I was in the wrong layer. I would have to be in the background layer to use the clone tool to erase. Once I was in the correct layer, I was able to select a color source.
  14. I used to use the clone brush tool to erase, but now when I press alt to select a source color it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but its been a minute since I've used it, can someone refresh me on key commands for picking a color and then painting. I looked up tutorials, they are 14 minutes long and not giving me basic key commands to pick a color and paint with it in the photo. Thanks.
