Unify resize behaviour with and w/out shift key
lexislav replied to lexislav's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Hi Meb, thanks for quick answer, specially for tip to unselect the objects :-) that made the preference swithcing much faster :-) Yes, You are right,if You look at Move tool aspect Constrain setting as only aplicable to corner controls, it makes sense. Or if You are new to this kind of software, However I have tried to fight myself on this when using Affinity in past days and finally I have decided to discuss it, as I wasnt able to get used to it and still feel it like unfortunate solution. I believe a lot of users are (and will be) coming from other software and may struggle on this as well. -
I would like to suggest to unify behaviour of resizing of placed object with and w/out shift key Form another topic on this forum I know there is preference setting for this. When Preferences > Tools > Move tool Aspect Constrain is set to Do not Constrain by Default, it behaves as it should: without shift you can use any node to freetransform, with shift key and any node it keeps the proportions all the time. So I am using this options right now, as it is only logical one. But when this option in Preferences > Tools > Move tool Aspect Constrain is set to Automatic or Constrain by Default, it behaves not consistently. When You resize the object using corner node, it keep proportions of placed images, when side node tool is used it doesnt. So far so good. But when shift ke is pressed, the behaviour changes: shift and corner node draging does free transform, shift + side node draging keeps the proportions. I have found this confusing and hard to get used to. I believe it should keeep proportions when any node is used, draging of any node with shift key should not constrain proportions. Or contrary. But mixed behaviour is very confusing. Specialy when another logic is applied in Do not Constrain by Default setting. Another thing is, that to apply changes in this setting, I need to restart application. That is a bug or not?

Export of selected objects

+1 absolutely. Selected objects or group simple export is what I'am missing right now. When object /group is selected, switch to export persona could automaticly slice it, for example. -
corner tool crashes the designer
lexislav replied to lexislav's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on macOS threads
Uh, just run into another bug or something: I just did an experiment what does the Rounded rectangle with corner tool and it does wierd thing :-) (attachment) I know it has no sence to use this but… it allows me to drag the corner just upwards, on the top corner on the bottom corners as well. Propably should not do anything or sould work with radius regulary for this shape. -

No problem, the corner tool is awesome even with this bug :-) -
corner tool crashes the designer

At first, Yes, thanks… new corner tool is really cool. I like it! I have run into a bug when corner tool crashes the app: Rectangle is selected by any tool than switch to corner tool. No corner (node) is selected. When I use toolbar slider (next to Bake corner button) to set radius by opening it and draging it, the apps goes down. Repeatedly. Log attached. affinity designer crash report.txt -
Yes, but this is a bit limiting for using groups – the adjustment works just in the group. That means I cannot use groups just for organizing stuff (needed when a lot of layers is used, lets say in collages) as far as adjustment layer cannot be grouped and work globaly. That means no adjustment groups are possible (probably only like child-group). I feel this could be very disappointing at some point. Or at least, confusing for users coming from PSP…

SVG export for Web (responsive)
lexislav replied to pmdesgn's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
+1 / Vote for this as well. Exporting to SVG for individual slices as another option would be great too. -
setting grid in inkscape, in general, is quite good, vote for isometric setting as well.
