  1. Hi, Thank you for your comments. I will attach a cropped version of the original PSD, if that's OK. sh002_BG_crop.psd
  2. Hi, It took me awhile to figure this out, but the fill on a PSD file coming from Photoshop doesn't render properly in Affinity Photo when using a blending mode. Naturally, different applications have different functionalities but I wonder if there's some sort of compatibility conversion or something similar that could be implemented in the future to make this properly rendered and displayed in AP. To exemplify, I have this image in two image viewers, XnView and FastStone, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, and Affinity Photo. It's rendered/displayed in the same way in all applications except in Affinity. The layer has a fill value of 40% and is being blended with multiply. Affinity will reproduce the fill normally, I think, except if there's a blending mode. I don't consider this an AP issue, I also cannot import properly such PSD file to Toon Boom Harmony without some work-arounds, namely exporting the layer as a separate PNG file (I guess fill is converted to opacity in the PNG). Otherwise, the PSD layer will be 100% opaque in TBH. Another thing I noticed is that if I save a PSD file with groups with Pass-through enabled they will be opened with the mode reset to Normal. Shouldn't that info be saved with the file?
  3. Hello, This bug was reported two years ago on this thread: It still occurs in Affinity Photo 1.10.0.1127. I can't use a keyboard shortcut or via a button on my Intuos. I have to do it manually, and when it's something you need to do often it's not very practical. Since it's a current bug I thought it should be on the 1.10 forum.
  4. I found this bug recently because, as the OP, I'm using Select Sampled Colour a lot. It crashes when using a shortcut both via the keyboard or by using a button on my Intuos Pro (I suppose it's the same). I was about to file a bug report when I find this thread with nearly two years describing the issue. I suppose it's not an issue that affects many people. Still, two years. I'm on version 1.10.0.1127. I suppose a new thread be started for the current version of Affinity Photo, since while it makes sense to archive issues with previous versions, current bugs shouldn't be archived until they are solved.
  5. A duplicate document option would be extremely useful for me. The work-arounds are not very practical. I often need to make several files from one PSD file. There's nothing more practical than having a shortcut to duplicate the whole document and change or trash the layers I don't need for that version of the document and then save them separately. My current work-around is basically saving and reopening/dragging the document several times. Is there a better solution I'm missing.
  6. I bought Photo as a Photoshop replacement and made a fool of myself once, when a got a PSD from a colleague and told him he sent me an unfinished version. Until I realized he was using the Divide blending mode, which Affinity Photo doesn't process. I understand that the software doesn't pretend to be Photoshop and, I suppose, doesn't provide any sort of guarantee to be 100% compatible with Photoshop. It become popular via some of its user base as a replacement to Photoshop and since it exported and opened PSD files I thought - maybe naively - that that would be the case. I mean, I didn't expect it to be 100% like Photoshop, feature-wise, I just didn't expect it wouldn't open properly some PSD files. I hope it would be possible for this and other blend modes to be introduced for compatibility issues, otherwise for some people it can't be a complete Photoshop replacement. That said, I should add that I'm not exactly disappointed with the software, considering its features, ease of use, and price, and I don't expect to face many situations such as the one I mentioned. Besides adding my +1 to this thread I also wanted to add another user perspective, which is not "how to make this" in Affinity Photo, but the compatibility issue - "I can't open all PSD files in Affinity Photo". Meanwhile, it would be great if some sort of warning could be added, such as, "some layers of this file cannot be displayed properly" or "this file contains a blending mode that cannot be displayed".
