  1. Just another voice for this. There is a big gap and having a suitable alternative to Lightroom will make an awful lot of people very happy indeed. I still use Aperture as my DAM and will continue until someone releases something of a similar ilk. I won't touch Adobe products and Capture One is in many ways overkill and not as intuitive.
  2. Now that would be awesome. An app similar to an updated Aperture would be very welcome.
  3. Provided you are using the exact same Apple ID, if you click on the buy button, once you authenticate yourself with the mac store, it should change from $49.95 to the download icon indicating you already have it. For peace of mind, you could try downloading another free app first as you would still have to authenticate. Now the icon for Affinity should indicate you already own it and can download it without fear of being charged again.
  4. A DAM with some editing ability is my preference. Quickly batch processing images with basic corrections without a round trip to a separate application is a big pull for me. It may be that any DAM is so tightly integrated with Photo that most used tools are available seamlessly in the DAM. Another thing I would want is the ability to add multiple applications to the list of 'Edit In' options available. Aperture for example only lets you set one external editor but I would love the option to set up 2 or 3 and then select the one you wish to edit in from a context menu. This would also go some way to mitigate the lack of plug ins.
  5. I think it makes a lot of sense for this to be included in a DAM.
  6. Yup, this is almost the holy grail for photographers out there who don't want to get into bed with Adobe. I'm sticking with Aperture for now as it still works fine although I will be looking to migrate to a serious alternative when available and given what I have seen of Photo, I can't wait for the Affinity app. I'm looking forward to any future beta or even a thread where we can post a wish list.
  7. Definitely a well deserved accolade. I was trying to think of other apps I have seen or used that could compete and I am genuinely struggling.
