  1. Hi there, Every so often as I'm drawing in Affinity Designer 1.10.6.1665, my application just crashes to desktop. Tonight, I've managed to to isolate and reproduce the issue. When you're in the pixel persona, (does not seem to happen in the Vector persona), if you're drawing with the brush tool, (or pixel tool, or even eraser tool.. seems to happen across many tools), and you hit Ctrl-Z (undo) *while* your tool is still drawing/erasing/doing it's thing, the app CTD's. Repro steps: Start a new document in Affinity Designer Go to pixel persona Start drawing with the brush tool, or just even erasing nothing with the eraser tool While you're drawing.. hit Ctrl-Z on your keyboard Experience a crash I hope this is helpful to the developers. I know you guys have moved on to V2 but this is a bit of a showstopper for the V1 folks. Thanks! {M}
  2. ...nevermind, found it. "Global Colour". Didn't see that before. Oops! M
  3. Hello, I'm wondering if Designer has any kind of "master colour" feature that I'm just not finding? What I mean is, let's say that I have a complex object made up of many shapes. For ease of explanation, let's imagine a drawing of a car. It's made up of a bunch of shapes, including 4 wheels. Is there any way for me to define a "wheel colour", and then when I colour my wheels, I can click the newly defined "wheel colour" swatch. Then, later if I decide I want to change the colour of the wheels, i can simply alter the colour of the "wheel colour" swatch, rather than going through my layers, finding all my wheels, clicking them and recolouring them? I guess like a "master page" in publisher.. but with colour swatches. Does designer have anything like that? Maybe it's just the programmer in me but I feel like a sort of "variable swatch" would be helpful. Thanks! M
  4. Identical settings for both programs. Tried with and without Open CL. No difference. After some further testing, I did notice that painting within a clipping mask also degrades performance considerably (even in Photo). Hopefully this is helpful to the developers.
  5. Upon further testing, I've discovered that larger brushes are more responsive, while the smaller ones are quite laggy. Zooming in improves performance, zooming out decreases it. Hope this helps the developers track it down. (just to be clear - the issue is completely non-existent in Affinity Photo - same document, same everything.
  6. Yeah I had tried that as well. Video drivers are also up to date.
  7. This was not an issue before, but suddenly now when I try to use the paintbrush tool/pixel tool (pixel persona), the performance is abyssal. Depending on how fast im painting, there can be up to 1-2 seconds of lag between when i paint and when it shows up on screen. Happens for both mouse and tablet input. If I do "Edit in Photo" and bring the same document up in Affinity Photo, the performance is just fine. Both programs on 1.10.4. I am using OpenCL. Any help? Thanks
  8. Yeah that's what I mean. I don't see it in the list, even when I search for it. EDIT: Doh. Apparently it required a restart. I should've thought of that straight away. Thanks for the response!
  9. So in my user profile, I have some asset packs associated with my account. I clicked on one of them to download it, but now I cant figure out where on my HD it was saved so that I can import it with the asset manager. Everything I can find online says, "navigate to the .afassets file and import it"... but I have no idea where that file is. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the reply. Been examining the problem a little more and I think it may have something to do with alignment. I'm looking at my drawing and if I show the pixel grid, it seems that my whole drawing is mis-aligned with it. Somehow. lol. So... yeah. Somehow my image is not "snapped" to the pixel grid, and I'm not sure how to make it so. I know it sounds nonsensical, and it really is. I've got "force pixel alignment on", and that doesn't seem to be helping. EDIT: just before posting this comment I seem to have found the root of my problem. There is a button at the top called "Pixel view mode", which for reasons is not enabled by default in Pixel Edit mode. So.... yeah. Apparently I was in some alternate viewing mode all this time, as that button wasn't pressed. Having this enabled fixes the problem; the image's pixels are now properly aligned to the grid and the tools behave as they should. Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it!
  11. I can't find where "align to integer pixel values" is located, I don't see it anywhere in the Navigator panel or the layer options. Though, the "Force Pixel Alignment" thing seems to be doing the trick. Thanks!
  12. Sorry for the necro, but for me ctrl-clicking with the pixel erases the pixel im pointing at (zoomed in quite far) and half of the adjoining pixels(how is that even possibnle). So basically 2 pixels. Set to 1px, 100% flow/opacity/hardness etc.
  13. Ok, perfect. Good to know the team is aware of it. Thanks for the support, Sean!
  14. Ok, you seem to be right about the Appearance Panel. If that is closed during the procedure, the program doesn't crash. I also tested it with a few other tools, shape tools, pen tool, pencil tool etc. No crash. It seems to be specific to the vector brush tool, while the appearance panel is open.
