  1. My thanks to stokerg for continuing to work away on this. Now that I know some of the triggers and a fix, the issue has become far less of a problem and just a nuisance. However, it really should get fixed. Will the developers put a message in this thread when it is done and provide an update?
  2. Thanks thomaso. The revert defaults did it. Must have changed that inadvertently some time ago.
  3. I do not know if this is a bug or user ignorance. When I try to create a new text frame, it always defaults to some horrible font, often bold and sometimes unreadable with inane attributes. I try to create a new text frame with the the Text Frame tool after highlighting the desired text style but it doesn't provide the correct style. It also does not work if I create the frame then format it using the Move Tool or Inserting the Frame text tool in the box and clicking on the desired text. The only way I can get a properly behaving text frame is to copy an existing one. This problem goes back to Publisher 2.1. I but persists in 2.2. I use a Mini mac 13.4.1.
  4. I just replicated the scroll bar trigger but it happened with the horizontal scroll bar on a single page.
  5. I should have noted. All the documents I am working on were either created in 2.1 or were copied from templates created in 2.1.
  6. I have been working on single page documents so I have not been scrolling between pages. I have found that Mike's trick of zooming in and out does fix it some of the time. My work is not complicated. I create a half dozen text boxes with various fonts and styles on a page. I fill them with original text (not paste) and edit as appropriate. I also copy a few illustrations (line drawings) into the document and try to resize them. Have you ever tried to resize an image with no handles? The "invisible" selections appear and disappear with no regularity that I can determine. It almost seems like it counts up mouse clicks. The fact that it occurs with both the "Move Tool" and the "Frame Text Tool" suggests that the problem is not in the tool itself. I know there has to be a pattern but I cannot find it. There are only two new things on my computer recently - Publisher 2.2 and that insidious Grammarly that is showing up almost everywhere without my consent. i would send you a screen shot but I just can't take pictures of invisible features.
  7. Since installing 2.2, both the select arrow and the "I" beam randomly lose their controls. A selected image or frame will not show its border or corner boxes. The text cursor will not show the colour highlight for selected text. In both cases, the selected object is still fully functional but invisible. I cannot find a way to replicate the problem and it will come and go at seemingly random intervals. I have not tested other tools enough to discover if this situation permeates the entire program. Using a Mac 13.4.1. This did not occur before uploading version 2.2. It is extremely difficult to work with this situation.
  8. This may relate to the same issue. Ever since uploading Publisher 2.2 (Mac Ver 13.4), I keep losing control of my cursors. The text "I" beam seems to work but it randomly refuses to show the text highlight shading so it looks like it is not selecting anything. The move tool also seems to be randomly refusing to select objects. Both problems will persist if I continue trying to use them but will disappear if I leave the program for awhile.
  9. As I continue to test, I am finding that my original assumption of previously used files working and never opened ones are not working is invalid. I cannot seem to identify why some work and some do not. The files I am using all have similar formatting. I have attached two of the files that are not opening. 10. After upgrading to Publisher 1.8.4, every time I try to open an .idml flie for the first time, the program just disappears. It seems to be working on idml files that I have opened previously in version 1.8.3. I am using system 10.13.6 and have sent several versions of the same crash report to Apple. I have also put this topic on the Windows forum as it seems to be a recurring issue on that platform.
  11. I am now having this problem. After upgrading to Publisher 1.8.4, I cannot open any of my .idml files that have never been opened before. The ones that have been opened in 1.8.3 seem to be working still. Using a Mac (10.13.6) and have sent several versions of the same bug report to Apple. This is a major problem for me and cripples my work.
  12. On the first page, the first two boxes have a different line spacing than the second two boxes.
  13. I just figured out the source of the problem but not the fix. When I start the second line of text in a box, and type two words, Publisher assumes I need a paragraph cap (which I do not want). It sets line spacing appropriately. When I go back and remove the unwanted cap, it retains the line spacing. How do I fix this?
  14. I am having the same problem. Although I am using the same paragraph style in each case, there are two distinct looks. I have checked all of the character and paragraph settings in each instance and cannot see any difference. I have tried deleting and reloading to no avail. I am a new user so I may be doing something wrong inadvertantly. I sent a file and you can see the two styles clearly in the various boxes. LS Antigua 1940.idml.afpub
