  1. Sure, I can share the file here. I was cutting the letters to seperate it from each other. Hope that helps. logofile.afdesign
  2. Hi, this is not as easy as you think, since this not always produces a crash, so i cannot record it. But i can add two crash reports for this one since it happened to me twice when using the knive to do straight cuts. Hope this helps to fix the bug. Cheers Affinity Designer 2 MAS-2025-05-19-190059.ips Affinity Designer 2 MAS-2025-05-19-194123.ips
  3. After cutting through a logo multiple times with the knive tool by holding down control for cutting a straight line, Affinity Designer crashes instantly. Other times after multiple times cutting with the knive tool, the kinve tool does nothing at all.
  4. Thanks for the work around, much appreciated. i also worked around this by just duplicating the object itself and apply the gradient onto it and blend over the object behind. But the point is not to find workarounds for all features that are implemented but not working. The point, at least for me is, that i can trust on software, on features this comes packaged. Otherwise i need more time for workarounds then actually working on a project.
  5. there is a warp group in the file as well as noise. But those two facts are not affected as with this bug. Have tested removing both, still no change. Reg. Affinity itself: True, i just thought since they where aquired by canva, i would have hoped that the situation has eventually gotten better. i really like the software itself since it has enormous potential even over Adobe. I still have hope…
  6. When you apply the layereffect "overlay gradient" on an object it strangely shows opaque, even though the object itself has blend mode "normal" and is set to 100% opacity. What is going on here. This way this layer effect is not usable at all. In the settings modal window of the layereffect i set the overlay gradient to be from plain white 50% opacity to plain white 100% opacity. The espected behaviour would be to have the overlay show at 100% opacity and let the actual background show through when gradient opacity is 50%. But what it does it made the background opaque as well and not only the gradient it is ment to overlay. This only happens when you created an Artboard for this, it does not happen when you use the plain document without art boards. Also worth mentioning is, that i set the document to show transparency. Please see the video attached for more information. I also attach the AD File. Tech Specs: Mac OS 15.3.2, Affinity Designer 2.6, Macbook Pro M1 Pro I am sorry guys, but alone this and the last week i have submitted several bugs, that are not even hidden. I am kinda loosing trust in the Affinity suite for professional work. Every other project i am currently working on professionally i need more time to figure out why Affinity suite is not behaving as it should then actually working on the project itself. And i am with Affinity since version 0.9 affinity designer gradient overlay.mov gradient overlay testfile.afdesign
  7. I am often using the Style picker tool to take over simple styles like strokes but also more complex styles like layer effects and fillings. What completely irritates me is that style picker not plainly takes over a specific style without thinking about scaling. No, depending on if the source object is set to "scale object stroke" or "scale layer effect with object" and now the source object is smaller then the destination object the style applies to, the style will be scaled just by using the style picker, why?? This is maybe logical in coding sense, but absolutely not what i expect as a user. (It took my an hour the figure out why strokes apply much bolder on the destination object taken from the source object) This whole issue gets even stranger when having style picking from an object group as. source where some objects have scale stroke set and some not. This will result in multiple different stroke thiknesses on the destination object. Guys, please can you change that behaviour to ingore scaling per default. Don´t know in which scenario users want scaling to be effected by the style picker. See video attached (It took me almost an hour to figure out why the stroke of the destination object gets much bolder then the source object) style picker issue.mov
  8. Thanks didn´t know about that setting, seems to fix my issue, I wonder why one of the other two options is not default for Affinity Designer, though. Any of the other two options would be consistent and therefore memorable, thus making the UX better. logically correct does not always convert in good UX. thank you!
  9. Sure, i have made a screen recording where you can clearly see the backgroudn layer peaking through after using blur tool. (please keep in mind that i am using german language in Affinity Photo). Also find the Affinityphoto file attached. I have experienced the mentioned behaviour on small brush sizes for me, it seems to work better in large brush sizes for the blur tool. blur tool wholes.mov blur demo foto.afphoto
  10. So true, Funnily the scale options panel hidden under the popup button in the transform panel, although everything is set to scale with object, does not apply to objects itself but rather to the current document. So i don´t even know how that is supposed to work, but does not seem to work for me on layer effects and brush strokes.
  11. It is rather hard to have a screenrecording for this since i can hardly reproduce the issue. Sometimes it is just unreliable. I will try to do a screenrecording for you guys when ever it happens agauin.
  12. Happy to provide a screenrecording of the mac version. Sadly i do have the german version of Affinity Designer, nevertheless it shows the issue. Sometimes as in this case guides will show up again after restart or forcing a rerendering. Sometimes it persists. In this file it seems to be related to a pixelimage that is overlayed with multiple vector objects. Hope that helps. guides issue.mov
  13. When i do scale objects in Affinity Designer 2.6 i often run into the issue of how to do a proportional scale of an object, or an object group. I would expect this to either always proportionally scale on default and freely scale when hitting shift key or the other way around. Sadly Affinity Designer behaves completely inconsistent here, sometimes it scales proportionally per default, sometimes it scales freely per default and you have to hit shift key for proportionally scale. I cannot make out any consistent rule on when what is the case. For example i had an objectgroup consisting of a group of layers (rather complex). When i scaled this objectgroup, it scaled proportionally per default. Then i grouped this objectgroup and another object together and again scaled it, but suddenly i had to hit the shift key to scale proportionally. (There where no raster images included in the group) So eventually i always have to first figure out how scaling behaves with a certain object and then doing the scale operation. This is completely inconsistent. Why not just do a consistent behaviour for all objects? (And i do get that photos might be a different story, but these where all vector graphics) Any help would be appreciated. Specs: Using macOS 15.3.1 and Affinity Photo 2.6 on a Macbook Pro M1Pro
  14. I am heavily using Layer Effects within Affinity Designer 2.6 doing mostly vectorized product shots. To add depth and shadows i use blur and shadows in many layers, also in layer groups and so on. Sadly to actually have a proper scalable product shot you always have to make sure that "scale with object" is set to on which i actually always forget, because it is something i expect to be on per default. This eventually leads me to go through dozens of layers nested in layer groups to set every layer effect of each layer, and make sure that i set scale with object for every layer to "on". It is not even possible to set multiple layer`s scale to object setting to "on". I always have to do it for each and every layer, which is kinda nerve racking. Also it does not seem to make any sense to me since i cannot think of more scenarious where you want this to be off then on. I think the default value should be what is expected most likely. So can you please have "scale with object" to be on per default instaed off. Thank you!
