If they are stored on iCloud, I and others have had an incident where a bunch of files simply vanished. Nothing left behind. Not deleted and in the trash. Just gone. Never the folders. Just some files inside folders. I now have a time machine backup to counter this.

I could see value in a comprehensive comparison. But maybe let's not one person do that. We could decide on a few images typical of various types of work and each person who already uses a given tool could take the set and run them through their tool and post results. I'm willing to throw a webpage up somewhere showing a comparison chart. Or they could just be a series of thread on this forum.

On a Mac, you can save from the Preview app to PostScript in the same place (lower left) of the print dialog where you save to PDF. You can then open that and have all the type converted to curves/outlines.
