  1. I just checked the Starfighter laptop. Although it looks like an awesome machine, I think it's pretty expensive. I currently own a MSI Modern, with the older Ryzen 7 version, 32 GB memory, a 500 GB NVME SSD and a QHD screen which costs me about 700 bucks. So I didn't really look into the Starlabs stuff, why would I pay that much for a laptop ? That said, as a quarter of a century professional UNiX/Linux user I would love to become beta tester for Affinity's suite on Linux. Whether on Ubuntu, Zorin OS or whatever distro flavor. Would love that. So by any chance Affinity, I think you would make a LOT of users happy when you would do this.
  2. Hi all, thanks for the replies and apologies for not anwering sooner. I ended up writing a Python script which does the trick, so for now I'm good. cheers, Andy
  3. No, it's not for watermarking images. But thanks for replying.
  4. Yes, it's the same text for all pictures. Purpose is prices for products in a gallery.
  5. Hi all, I need to add a textlayer to a series of pictures. So I was trying to create a macro for that. However, when I try to use the text tool while recording the macro, it says : cannot record "Add Artistic Text " . I'm kind of stuck on this. Anyone any tips how to solve this ? cheers, Andy
  6. Hi all, I really was wondering.....I recently started with learning digital painting in Photoshop. In a few months, my yearly CC subscription ends, and I really would continue with Affinity Photo instead. Now I wanted to order a few books, to kickstart my digital painting skills. But these books are all Photoshop oriented. It concerns these books: https://shop.3dtotal.com/beginner-s-guide-to-digital-painting-in-photoshop.html and https://shop.3dtotal.com/beginner-s-guide-to-digital-painting-in-photoshop-sci-fi-and-fantasy.html Does anyone perhaps know if I can use them with Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop ?? cheers, unforgiven
  7. Not a fan, but like their music However, my nick was chosen in a time where I didn't listen to anything other than rap and hiphop when I had some struggles in my personal iife. A friend of mine called me 'Unforgiven', and so my nick was born. It was only later on I discovered 'The Unforgiven' and 'Unforgiven 2' from Metallica. Which are definately great tracks !
  8. Hi there ! My name is Andy, aka The Unforgiven.. I am a long time aspiring amateur graphics dude, mainly using Photoshop for anything graphics (and some CInema 4D or Bryce for some 3d stuff). I just learned about Afiinity about a week ago, when I was looking for tools for webdesign. I am trying to get my own webdesign/development company off the ground. I really dislike the online subscription model Adobe uses these days and I was long searching for alternatives. I know GIMP for a long time, as I am a linux/unix sysadmin in my fulltime job. Have played with the Gimp, but it was cumbersome to use in my opinion. The Affinity products to seem to be a serious alternative for Photoshop/Illustrator. I have MacBookPro, but I must say I also dislike the way Apple is moving with the completely non-upgradable laptops these days. So I wast on the verge of moving away from the Apple platform as a whole, but Affinity makes me hesitate to do so. Don't get me wrong, the OSX platform is by far superior to Windows, I just don't like the idea the I need to pay over 3000 euro to get a laptop with hardware specs that other brands offer for ~1500 euros. OK, enough complaining. As I see it, Affinity programs are quite cool and I definately will try them out ! cheer, Andy
