  1. Will we be able to edit shortcuts to adjust that? PS, Sketch, Pixelmator, etc all use alt drag.
  2. I'd agree. Artboards are one of the features I consider essential to my daily use in Sketch. Pages are useful if you have symbols, but if you don't have plans to have symbols then pages can wait.
  3. Do you mean Winding Rules? Ok. That's good to know. Weird since iDraw generally imports SVGs better than Sketch, but I understand that. And you are correct when I test my files in browser the render correctly. The other issue still remains with rasterization.
  4. Looks very nice! A great implementation. It functions similar to Sketch which I really like.
  5. And here is the same object with a gaussian effect on it exported as an SVG. Ideally this should export it out using SVG filters instead of rasterizing. OR At least export it so the effect is an overlay blended in some way to product the visual effect, but retaining most of the original vector shapes. The way it's exporting now it's clipping, and cutting up the object in a very odd way that doesn't bode well for editing in another app.
  6. Attached is a composition of exports of a similar object. All were constructed in the same way: 1. Insert 300px circle 2. Copy, and resize copy to 200px 3. Subtract front from back 4. Copy new object 5. Move new object behind original 6. Apply radial gradients. (note: colors aren't identical I "eyeballed" it) All were imported into iDraw (which has the best SVG importer/exporter in a "app" that I've used. I often use it as a go-between for Sketch), though I saw the same import results in Inkscape. The first is the object exported from Affinity as a SVG with display checked. The second is a straight export of SVG from iDraw, and then imported into a new document. The third is Sketch (yes it fails at this as well. one of my many issues with the app) The last shows that the shape is there and used the SVG with editable selected. I'm sure I could tweak to get it to display correctly. The display version of the object also had the base shape there.
  7. Here is a screenshot of Sketch's UI for controlling export multipliers:
  8. The question is in the title... is PDF / SVG export functionality fully implemented? I ask because in my test cases I'm seeing gradients, and shapes with effects getting clipped + rasterized rather then being fully editable gradients + effects. Ideally any effects should use SVG filters when exported. This was always a problem I had with DrawPlus. I often had to export out at really high DPI to remove any gradient dithering, and import it into Illustrator where I vectorized the rasterized portions. The results I'm getting right now are disappointing. Though the PNG export from a large vector files is incredibly fast, and clean. Nice work there.
  9. Correct explanation. Thank you Affinity/Serif team for communicating so openly.
  10. That is excellent to hear. I assumed with a name like "Designer" that you are going to offer some focused UI tools. Hence me making it a point to communicate regarding the tools I need / use on a daily basis.
  11. True vector export I hope? I ran some tests, and both SVG + PDF export out clipped shapes with rasterized gradients.
  12. I realize I'm posting a fair amount of requests, but I'm going through the app looking for things that have become essential to my UI workflows. Being able to live adjust boolean / pathfinder / operations is extremely useful.
  13. I see right now a 1x, and 2x. It would be awesome if we had a manual option. I'm looking at this from a UI standpoint where I want to export assets at different multiples (2x, 3x, 1/2, etc.)
  14. Please at least consider it at some point. It's the reason apps like iDraw, and Sketch are options for UI designers. Really without that functionality Designer would be limited to illustration.
  15. I'm curious if the existing tool icons are final, or in progress? They feel inconsistent, and lack the slick feel that we see in the app icon.
  16. Just please don't restrict the mesh to the shape itself. That is the way it works in Illustrator which ends up limiting the flexibility of the tool. I really liked the Mesh Fill in DrawPlus, and that it was independent of the actual shape for creative freedom. @MEB the separation is a plus really. Though I can see the benefit of allowing both.
  17. I'm really hoping to see the gradient mesh tool. I was always a fan of the way it was implemented in DrawPlus over how Illustrator's worked.
  18. I'm really happy to see that effects aren't in a floating dialog by default. Thank you! I hope that comes to the Window's variant of Designer. I haven't used DrawPlus in awhile..so it's possible it already has. One thing I always wished to see was multiple layer effects on a shape layer. So I could have 3 inner shadows layered on top of each other to create a specific visual effect.
  19. Hello. My name is Brian, and I'm a UX / UI Designer @Star2Star. I'm pretty excited to try out the new products. I've been a Draw user for years, and did a lot of freelance logo work with it before I switched completely to Mac. Interested to see what Serif brings to the Mac.
