  1. I have the same problem. I opened both Beta and production programs and they are not sampling the color correctly. I was just using the functions perfectly. This is super frustrating. What is the issue? All these issues with affinity make it super hard to ignore how bad the program could be. Like how does it "suddenly" stop working?

    13.4.1 MacOS/studio/ photo beta 2.2.0(2005) and designer 2.2.0.

  2. Hello Chris B,

If you need a certain log file please let me know and I can provide it from my environment. After trouble shooting, and multiple reboots. I was able to get get the printer dialog displaying and printing consistently. I had to remove the Com.apple.print.custompresets and went ahead and removed the presets within the print dialog (Edit preset list option). I did however got the hang up issue after installing the printer via (IP) option. When power cycling, the dialog will not send job to the printer. It freezes and the user will not be able to cancel out the print window. Once I try to sent the job to via the bonjour/AirPrint option, the IP seems to wake and can print successfully. At this point I will only use AirPrint.

No issues when changing the range.

  3. Hello Sam,

I enrolled in beta program to get the most recent update. I was still having the issue. I submitted a bug and got a reply. I tried the below and I go the printing to work as expected:

I cleared out all previously saved printers. Cleared user defaults (by control on launch) and created new file. Went to print it, got the print dialog and sent to printer by selecting near by printer (AirPrint SC800).

After, I checked AP2.0.4 and it was displaying the dialog and printing successfully. Try that on your setup and check to see if it fixes it. On my machine, my printer presets were still available and did not loose them from removing the printer from system.

    Good luck.

I cleared out all previously saved printers. Cleared user defaults and created new file. Went to print it, got the print dialog and sent to printer by selecting near by printer (AirPrint SC800).

I cleared all printers again, added printer via IP after reinstalling drivers, created file and sent and printed successfully,

    Additional info:

My presets were saved for the printer. I printed via presets and they worked with no crashing or hung up issue.

Once I rebooted, the issue comes back and the printer dialog is no longer displayed.

  5. MacStudio Ultra Ventura 13.3.1

    1769 Photo

Fresh install and cleared user data using (control at launch)

After creating a project, go to file>Print

    Actual: No print dialog displays.

    Expected: Dialog print window displays.

Additional notes: Tried changing the color profiles, created rasterized layers only and mixed layer files and not successful. Tried documents from usb and internal HDs.

  6. Hello,

There is a bug that causes Designer to stop responding when creating a new document with the my templates folder missing. I had added a share/nas folder to keep my templates. My Nas has died and the share folder is not available. Now when launching the new document dialogue. Designer stopped working and does not recover so I can make a new docuement.

Is there a way to remove template folder data without navigating to the dialogue>remove folder option?

    Please help me fix this.

    Environment:

    macOS 11.3

    Designer 1.9.3

  7. Hello Oval,

No, I have never used that method to eliminate the gaps. How would this work for shapes with gradients? or any shape that is not pure white? I subscribe to a illustration site that provides a wide variety of files. I have been noticing that most of the files now open with these gaps.

    Thanks,

  8. Hello,

I have been experiencing this crash also, I see it more often when I have a  couple (more than 3) raw files open and developed. My workflow is to typically create a gradient map on each along with a curves adjustment layer. When I go to create a new palette from an image, it will crash if the number is changed from the standard 5 to say, 8 or 10 colors. Image is a PNG file.

    Environment:

    macOS: 10.13.6

    AP: 1.7.2

    Thanks,

  9. R C-R,

I totally agree with your response. However, it is 100 percent addressable. Either have 2 brush panel options or map out the correct applicable brush dependent on what type of layer you have highlighted. Everything else can remain the same. Im not trying to debate why there are 2 types of brushes. My issue is with the nature of the usability of the program. How a novice user or someone that comes from another program that doesn't know the AD fundamentals yet. Obviously this would not apply if the user already knows the architecture of the program. Again, power users will overlook this as an issue because it is not one for them.

    Thanks,

Some of the category names are generic (like Assorted or Basic) but most are not, nor do they have the same kind of brushes in them in the two personas. They are completely independent of each other.

"They are completely independent of each other." This is why this is an issue. To a novice user, its not known they are independent. Especially when all the tools adjacent to each other DO manipulate the vector object.

Im not saying that both of these brushes should carry the same functionality. Its OK if they can't, do to limitations. The issue is that they are not labeled as such. When looking into it, it became very apparent that a vector brush existed because of the icon. The the pixel brush icon is not the same as the vector brush icon. Also, throughout the program you have indications that you are editing in pixel or vector modes. Why not stay consistent and keep it across tool functionality? Certainly, not a big issue. But it should not be overlooked due to non-understanding of the program.

  11. Hello All,

I wanted to copy over a feathered brush from the pixel brushes. Since I did not find out how to do it or if it was even possible, I ended up applying a blur to the vector shape. Kinda worked out. I uploaded a video of the issue with the brushes not applying changes because they are not compatible across personas. Im calling this an issue because by default the brushes panel is pinned to the properties pane in the pixel persona. As you can see, you can still edit vector properties when in the pixel persona until you come to the brushes options. Additionally, by default the brushes options is not pinned to the vector persona. The user has to add it manually to panel as shown. Again, the brushes category are named the same in both personas.

  12. Hello All,

Im having a difficult time with brush selection. How can I copy pixel brush styles to the vector brush styles? Additionally, when editing between vector brushes and pixel brushes. It is inherently impossible to figure out as the user that vector and pixel brushes carry the same functionality. Since navigating between vector and pixel personas, do carry some functionally with the same tools. It would help if the assistant or some message displays that there is some limitations when trying to make a change to a shape with the wrong brush option. I mean, color, stroke and fill all seem to work across personas and do not require an additional gui to display to change properties.

    Thanks,
