  1. I believe I've seen this in other threads and the issue has been the beta version of iOS 11. Are you running iOS 11?
  2. They have to wait for Apple's RAW engine to support it as that is what they use on iOS.
  3. This has actually been an issue for a while, but because I usually use curves mostly for dodge & burn at very low flow, I didn't notice it much. What I'm talking about is that it appears the luminosity blend mode is affecting saturation, which it shouldn't. It would also appear that the normal blend mode is acting like luminosity and not affecting saturation, which it...normally would. See examples below.
  4. Looks like both of these have been fixed in latest beta (5). Thanks guys
  5. In this latest beta, modifier keys have been added to certain tools. While it's a good try, it's not ideal. First, let's take the brush tool as an example. You can now use the pick color button while dragging the pencil to select a color. The problem is, when doing things like frequency separation where you need to constantly change color and size of brush, it gets pretty cumbersome switching through the menus each time. What we need are permanent command keys that work with any tool as they would on the desktop. Let's stay with the brush tool. If there was a space key, we could quickly switch to pan/hand mode while working. If we had an option key, we could easily drag to get the color picker as it works on the desktop. This would simplify the menus and allow those keys to be used with multiple tools, as they do on the desktop when using a wacom or similar. I'd suggest space, option, command, control, and shift keys. And see below for my suggestion for placement, although it would be cool to swap placement for lefties. I love that you guys are so responsive.
  6. Anything you buy on App Store you can re-download and won't be charged again. Btw, you're posting in a forum for the beta, not the App Store version. There is a forum for bugs in that version here.
  7. Make sure you're using finger as it does not work with Pencil. I, along with others, have suggested modifier keys to make things like this work more like on the desktop with a wacom.
  8. Hey, Jer. I was considering softening the finger shadows, but I actually liked them like that. I actually did lighten the lines a little, but didn't go as far as using frequency separation as I wanted to keep it as natural as possible. Background is original, just a little magenta from the color grade. Yes the depth of field, or lack thereof, is why her hair is out of focus. See SOOC below
  9. Another portrait retouched entirely in Affinity Photo for iPad. I'd love to hear thoughts
  10. I think the bigger issue for you is that soon you won't be able to upgrade the OS on that device as they have already dropped upgrades for the original mini. iOS 11 may be the last hurrah
  11. This goes hand in hand with my request for the ability to invert overlays in the develop persona. It's very helpful to adjust exposure of the subject separate from the background and vice versa while in the develop persona (while you have the full RAW data). To help with masking the subject, it would be very helpful to be able to refine the selection in the develop persona.
  12. It appears that in the latest beta (1.64.48), the High Pass filter has a couple of issues. Normally, I do a "pass" of sharpening by creating a stamp visible layer and applying a high pass filter set to monochrome, then setting blend mode to linear light or overlay.. Now, it appears if you select monochrome, you get some color along with the gray that you normally see. Only if you deselect monochrome do you get the normal high pass display, which is typically gray with kind of an embossing effect showing what will be sharpened, depending on radius. Another issue is that if you set the filter to be a live filter now, set the blend mode, then adjust the opacity, a weird saturation effect happens to the image the more you bring down the opacity. Examples below
  13. It would be great to not have to go into the navigator studio to tell what zoom level you're at. When panning and zooming while doing retouches, etc, it's a bit inefficient to have to switch studios when checking for what is visible at different zoom levels.
  14. Are you trying to do it with the Apple Pencil as opposed to your finger? I've found that these tools only work with the finger, which is why I, and others, have suggested numerous times that modifier keys need to be implemented to let the apple pencil work as a wacom would on desktop. Same goes for color picker
  15. There, I said it. It would be so awesome if I was able to use my iPad for wired tethered shooting. I don't know what it would take to get this going, but I guarantee if it worked better than Lightroom's tethering, people would take notice and drop their laptops for an iPad Pro and Affinity Photo. I know it's pie in the sky, but can I have a slice? BTW, I'm a Sony shooter, so would love to have that support first lol. PS - Maybe this would require a separate app because of the way Affinity Photo handles files right now.
  16. Not sure how Dropbox would even know the file had layers, so it comes down to size and Dropbox is able to handle multi-gigabyte files with ease as I transfer video files all the time. Also I can copy .afphoto files with no issue to Dropbox using the desktop version of Affinity Photo, so again, the layer thing doesn't seem to hold water.
  17. I, along with quite a few others, have requested this as well. I think they know we want it and just need to figure out a good way to implement it. Other top requests are modifier keys and non-destructive RAW editing
  18. I believe this is an issue in stable version as well, but it seems I can't save a copy to Dropbox, but I can to iCloud Drive. Doesn't matter what level in my Dropbox folder structure I try, it fails after like a second with the message attached. I've tried multiple files.
  19. So far I'm loving the software, but for a few niggles that are forcing me to change my workflow. It appears that the Gaussian blur effect is limited to a radius of 100px, as opposed to the desktop version, which goes to 1024. This is super useful when you want to fade a shape or something. Quote Edit
  20. It appears that even in this latest beta, the exposure slider is operating in percentage instead of stops.
