  1. I admit, I logged in to see if there was an upgrade available via the website/store, but that seemed more like a reflex because upgrades are often offered. I don't need 2/3 of the universal licence because I'm not using Apple products unless forced to at work, but it's still a great bargain. Even buying the individual programs at their regular prices would have been ok, but then I'm just happy to have an alternative to CC. And since I'm still missing some features, I sure hope development will go on for many years to come And if that means I'll buy the program allover again every couple of years than so be it. (Have some people forgotten what the Creative Suites have cost - even as upgrades? Or are people just hit with pre-CC nostalgia?)
  2. ok, just good to know that moving to V2 means you got to commit then. I thought I had read info that V1 would still receive updates, but after chasing down that tweet again, it seems that this was about fixing issues that could arise with V1 and updates to operating systems.
  3. it seems a bit odd to be able to switch between the programs (also one of my favourite functions), but then V1 not being able to open V2-files. Are there plans to be able to 'import' V2 files and if necessary the affected layers/functions are rasterized or converted?!
  4. the blur problem just came up again I'm not 100% sure because it occured later, but I think I just made a second layer, not even copy-pasted anything. Now when I'm trying to merge it with the base layer things get blurry. I tried various combinations of 'force pixel aligment', 'move by whole pixels' and snapping ... it always gets blurry.
  5. thank you for the reply, attached is a sample file it's happening in this file every time I tried so far with these two scribbles (one being copypasted from the other and widened a bit) (I cropped it and deleted everything else ...) Every time I merge the top layer (with the copy) down to the original layer things get blurry I have since upgraded to the new version that was released a few days ago and the issue persists in this file criz_sample.afpub
  6. some further observations: - when copying the respective layers into a new document the problem remained - when I draw a blob of colour underneath, the blurring didn't occur - when I put a new, empty layer underneath the copypasted part and merged the copypasted to the empty layer the blurring didn't happen, but when I then merged down this layer (copypaste bit + empty layer) to the original layer the blurring happened again in case any of this is helpful with figuring out what's causing this ...
  7. I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue as well to some degree I had hoped I'm the only one and it's just a random setting somewhere ... haven't heard anything back yet, but I supposed there are more pressing issues that affect more people after the 1.9 release so, let's wait and see
  8. addendum: tried it on another computer (Wacom Companion with Windows 10) the problem also happened there when I used the file with the concept sketches as well as a new file
  9. Greetings, this happened when working in Affinity Publisher with the Photo Persona (I do remember sometimes having similar issues back when I worked directly in Affinity Photo, but couldn't figure out what the cause was then). Working on Windows 10 with 1.9.1 version of the Affinity Programs. The past few evenings I had worked on some concept sketches and copypasted elements and moved them around. When I continued to draw on them with the same brush I had used before the new lines looked crisper while the existing parts seemed blurry. You could even tell the oldest was the most blurry. I was about to merge two layers before stopping and calling it quits before dinner when I realized that upon merging layers the element became very blurry because I was still zoomed in closely. I've tried to recreate the problem what I did: - made some random strokes - first I used the brush I had used for the drawings (Frankentoon Osaka), then I just picked one of the round ones from the basic set that come with the program - selected the 'drawing' with the lasso tool - control + c then control + v - used the arrow to move the copy to a new position - merge the layer with the copy down to the layer with the original results: - it didn't always happen - it happened in my preset file and new files - also found out that it can occur already just when copypasting something -> it can happen to the original element -> it can happen to the copypasted element - it can happen when merging down the copypasted element to the original layer #1 the one on the right is the original, the one on the left is the copied version. As you can see the original got blurry here. then I merged the layers, the copy now got very blurry, but the original stayed as blurry as it had gotten after making a copy of it #2 in this attempt the copy (left) got blurry, no further blurring when merging the layers #3 it's a bit harder to see here, but the copy (left) got blurrier than the original (right)
  10. Was about to suggest the same. I would definitely welcome the option to have a kind of brushes library (and perhaps assets and the likes) in one place that then syncs installations and changes throughout all the programs where applicable. Especially if it's coupled with being able to rearrange and order the installed brush packs as needed And not just the ones bought through the store because most brushes I have are by Frankentoon plus some by Daub and others.
