  1. Thank you very much for the quick response! Many other companies could take an example from this. I can currently live without a basic grid in these documents. But I am happy if I can help to clean up errors.
  2. I have the following problem: In Designer 2.1.0 I have tried to activate the baseline grid. As soon as I tick the box in the baseline grid window that the baseline grid should be used, the programme crashes completely without an error message. This behaviour does not occur with new documents. But when I work with a document for a longer time, the error occurs reproducibly. I have tried it on several computers. The problem occurs everywhere, on a laptop as well as on a workstation. I am attaching a test document where the error occurs. The document was created under version 2.1.0. Partykonzept.afpub
  3. It is undeniable that the price is super for the scope of the software on offer. I myself have been using 1.0 for a good 5 years and have been able to come to terms with the small shortcomings so well that Adobe subscriptions have expired without much regret. I bought the new version not 5 minutes after it was released - without even looking at the options included, because what is more decisive for me is that I also get future updates. I was happy to pay the money. Nevertheless, I can also understand the opinion of the thread creator. There remains a strange feeling of not being respected as an existing customer. And it's not even about the money. An exclusive brush set for existing customers or some other form of bonus, simply as a thank you, would have been nice. The comparison with buying a new car is also very misleading. Cars wear out in all parts, which software does not. A new customer gets software with hundreds of new functions. An update buyer only gets the new functions for the same price, because the previous functions are not "worn out". A small gesture of some kind would have been a sign of respect for existing customers.
  4. I know Vectormagic. It is the tool I am currently using. But it is something other than an integrated workflow. I'm sure there's a specialised solution for every little shortcoming in the Affinity programmes. But it involves importing, exporting, compatibility problems, formatting etc. every time. It is this seamless approach between tools that makes Affinity programmes so enjoyable.
  5. Fact is: I bought 2.0, although probably the only new tool I will use will be the shape constructor. But I hope that by buying it, I have contributed to making functions such as the trace in the designer possible. How can you make it clear to Serif / Affinity how important this function is to the community? It is the great advantage of this company that it is small and flexible enough to listen to the wishes of the users - I hope they also use this advantage.

  7. I worked with Adobe Phtoshop 1 (not cs1). It was terrible! There were bugs without end. Hundreds of functions, without which it seems impossible to survive today, were completely missing. I paid $895 for the Photoshop software "version 1" in 1990. Editable text was available after the 5th version to pay for. At that time, foreign languages were still unthinkable! Between 800 and 1000 dollars each. And that was ONLY the price for Photoshop, not a suite. Today the Adobe Suite costs 743.40 euros - every year and if you don't pay, nothing works anymore. Is anyone here really upset because of a one-off cost of 120 euros? For a programm that is not perfect (neither is Photoshop), but which covers 95% of the functions of the three corresponding programmes?
  8. I've been using Affinity for a long time and by now the old UI was completely transparent to me. I no longer paid attention to how the symbol looked, but only called up functions that I needed. It was only through this article that I started to look at the icons again. Some are successful. Some (in the contour palette) are less so. Much more important for me are the small improvements in the palettes that save me dozens of clicks. In the colour panel I now have the last used colours. I no longer have to switch to the colour panels. I see the hex colours directly and can copy them for documentation. Great! Something like this is much more important to me than the design of a button, which I no longer notice after a few clicks anyway. Have you discovered similar small improvements?
  9. Yes, you can install both versions side by side and also start them independently of each other. For the operating system, they are two completely independent software packages.
  10. My username: Yes, I am an Adobe Certified Expert. This shows how enthusiastic I used to be about Adobe and its products. That's gone now, and I want to contribute to the Affinity series with the same enthusiasm that I put into Adobe products before. In addition to the many customizable basic shapes, I would also like to see customizable line shapes in the designer. Especially spirals, grids: radial and rectangular, with adjustable distances that can be even and exponential. It would be really cool if you could determine how the shape is created when you create it: As contiguous lines or as compound complex shapes. Spacing should be definable. I often design logos and for that such a function would be really outstanding: I will upload graphics on occasion to clarify what I mean. I am German, unfortunately my English is not very good. I hope my message is clear. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator

That's gone now, and I want to contribute to the Affinity series with the same enthusiasm that I put into Adobe products before. I have a big desire: I want Affinity to be a complement to the Lightroom product family. As a professional photographer, I work regularly with Lightroom because it allows me to effectively manage my images. But unfortunately this program cannot be integrated into an affinity workflow. So it's not really usable anymore. But I need a way to manage 500,000 images in an integrated production process. It's also a very good thing for Serif to show Adobe how to do it right. With the new Lightroom CC, Adobe has gone astray - the tool is completely unusable. What do professionals need? Quicker access to the images. Clean and fast indexing. Print function with exact image dimensions. GPS allocation and Exif analysis for filtering. Picture evaluations. and absolutely: Multi user support. What is rarely or never needed: Photo book creation. Websites. When designing the Lightroom database, Adobe probably had the lonely photo Wolf in mind, who takes pictures alone and also edits his pictures alone. In my experience it's only seldom like this. Usually there are small teams of 2-6 people who photograph a session together and then want to work on it together. But this is not possible in Lightroom and never will be. Dear Community. Please support my wish and tell me what functions you still want from Serif when a clone is developed into Lightroom. I am German, unfortunately my English is not very good. I hope my message is understandable.
