Using the help section won't help me: Quote Choose whether to dither gradients, when working on projects, to speed up performance. Choose a clipping option for optimising performance. Dither gradients speed up the performance? So why should I leave it unchecked? Choose a clipping option implies that there is more than just a checkbox. Checked or unchecked what is the difference?
