yizzyK Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Do Designer and Photo have the same raster brush engine? Is there a reason why the built-in raster brushes are different for each program? Also, is it just me or is Designer’s Raster Persona laggier compared to brushing in Photo? Quote
Staff stokerg Posted July 18, 2019 Staff Posted July 18, 2019 Hi yizzyK and Welcome to the Forums, They do both use the same brush engine. The brushes in each app are suited towards that app, so the ones in Designer are more centered around drawing and design work, while the ones in Photo are more for digital painting. You can export any brushes you like from Photo and import them into Designer (or Designer to Photo if raster brushes). I haven't noticed any lag on the iPad i'm using . As the basic brush category is the same between both apps, try using one of the basic brushes in Photo and then the same brush in Designer's pixel persona and if you notice a lag, if you could provide a screen recording and let me know what model iPad you have, i can look into this further. yizzyK 1 Quote
yizzyK Posted July 18, 2019 Author Posted July 18, 2019 Using the basic brushes, neither exhibit noticeable lag. I double-checked again but with the drawing brushes of Photo and the Pen/Charcoal brushes of Designer. I guess they lag at relative speeds if that makes sense. Maybe the programs just aren't optimized for my hardware and settings. Quote
