I just purchased Affinity Photo and am looking for the freehand tool to select all of the background color so that I can take it out. Tutorial I looked at showed me how to use the freehand tool. R C-R Posted July 17, 2019 Share Posted July 17, 2019 By default, the Freehand Selection Tool is grouped with the Rectangular Marquee Selection Tool. To access it, either click on the tiny triangle in the bottom right corner of the marquee tool or just click & hold on it for a second or so to fly out the list of selection tools grouped there. You can also customize the Tools panel so individual tools appear there, using the View > Customize Tools... menu item.
