Hi, I work quite heavily with a number of large Affinity Designer files.

After the recent update, I am no longer able to open one of them. Designer opens the file fully (I can see all of the layers in the app) but them pops up a message saying:

>>

Failed to load document: [document name]

Access to the document file was lost while performing initial loading.

The document must now be closed.

<<

I've copied the file to a number of different computers and they all show the same behaviour: file loads fully in Designer, but Designer forces itself to close without letting me edit the file.

I'm using the App Store version of Designer, and I can't share the file in question publicly. Short of solving this problem with a 1.7 patch, is there a way I could get a copy of 1.6, given it worked?

Thanks.

Hi afit,

Can you upload the .afdesign file to our Dropbox here and i can get the Dev team to check it out.  Sadly the Mac App Store won't allow us to roll back to version 1.6.

Hi stokerg, do you know when I might expect to hear back on this? And am I right in thinking this forum is the only route into Affinity Support -- there's no email option? Thanks.

Hi afit,

The file has been logged with the Dev team on Thursday last week.  While the file opens in 1.6, you can't do anything with it.  Saving gives an error also in 1.6.  As soon as i hear back, i'll update here :)

We do have email support, affinitysupport@serif.com
