I want to achieve this effect without using the brush tool, I also want to be able to do it between 2 different images so that they blend together nicely.

How do I do this?

Dummy guide would be much appreciated!

Hi,

In fact, they don't blend together, but each one fade to white, with a large band of white in the middle.

You can achieve this with Mask (AD or AP), or with the transparency Tool (AD).

You can fade the white rectangle above the images, or fade the images above the rectangle… There're many ways to do this :)

Since I use first coloured rectangles and fading a white rectangle above, I imported my pics in the coloured rectangles:
