My back button is missing ... several buttons on top left

I'm taking a tutorial and they are pushing the back button in the upper left.  I don't have any buttons there.  Just a logo.  Frustrating.  Please let me know how to get them back.

Can you post a screen shot. I have the back arrow on both Designer and Photo.
