Loo
Hi all, Newbie here and after picking your brains if I may...I have designer installed on my desktop and my laptop. I successfully updated software to 1.71 on laptop but it fails on desktop...any ideas on how I can find out why this is happening? Many thanks in advance

Dan C
Thanks for confirming, could you provide a screenshot of the error you're seeing? Please download and run the following tool, then provide a screenshot of the results - http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html It would also help to have your setup files, please open Windows Run and paste the following string, then press OK: %temp%\AffinitySetup In the Explorer window that opens, select the newest folder and then attach Setup.log and SetupUI.log here. Many thanks in advance!

Dan C
Not to worry Loo, thanks for the information and screenshot provided! I can see from your SetupUI.log that the installer is having trouble removing your previous version of Affinity Designer. Firstly please download the following tool from Microsoft, this will remove any version of Designer that is currently installed and allow us to start from a clean state.https://support.microsoft.com/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed After downloading, please run the tool, follow the prompt for Uninstalling and select Affinity Designer from the list of apps. If you don't see this option, select the first option in the menu (Not Listed) and paste the following string, then press OK: {9CD72A9C-EE14-4A4F-AE4D-1824474C6672} After the app has finished uninstalling, please visit the following link and download a new copy of the latest version of the .EXE https://store.serif.com/update/windows/designer/1/ Once downloaded, locate the file in your Downloads folder and right-click on the file and select 'Run as Administrator'. Follow the app prompts and you should find this version installs as expected. I hope this helps
