djs Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) Hi All I recently swapped a load of Nikon gear for the Panasonic FZ2000 for travelling. When I came to process some wide angle images shot in RAW there was terrible vignetting of the sensor from 24mm to 28mm on the lens and I obviously assumed that the camera was faulty. However, they took my RAW images to see the issue and when they processed them using their RAW converter, SilkyPIX there was no sign of the issue and they are saying that the issue is witht he RAW converter. Since I use Affinity Photo (and have done for some years now) I am reluctant to introduce another piece of software to my worlflow. Is this an issue with raw converter in Affinity for these Panasonic files? Dave P1020219.RW2 Edited June 11, 2019 by djs example file added Quote
Staff Lee D Posted June 11, 2019 Staff Posted June 11, 2019 We've just added some changes to our Lens Correction in our 1.7 update to Affinity Photo. As long as the camera and lens is supported a profile should be applied that should correct vignetting. From looking at SilkyPIX they actually use the same LensFun database as we do, If you want to PM me a link to one of your RAW files I'll check it. Quote
djs Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Lee I managed to add a file to the original post Dave Quote
Goorawin Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 I have a Panasonic FZ2500 and no lens profile is applied to RAW images. Do you know if there is a profile for this camera? I have used a FZ1000 lens profile in other software and that seems very close to being correct. How can you use another lens profile in Affinity? Quote
djs Posted June 18, 2019 Author Posted June 18, 2019 Hi Goorawin Many thanks for the reply. As I understand it the FZ2000 and FZ2500 are the same camera just named differently in different regions. I don't know about the lens profile. Panasonic say that there is nothing wrong with the camera because images are good when converted using SilkyPIX (which they seem to be) and the behaviour does seem to suggest some sort of software issue since the vignetting is not affected by f stop so can't be optical. Haven't heard back from anyone from Affinity on this Dave Quote

Even though it is slightly out, its better than doing it manually. May be one day I will do a proper profile for it but it is a lot of work. Quote
