Aquablue71
Hi, maybe i have a simple question, but i did not find the solution right now. I would like to create a Card, that has a kind of a white level with holes in it. Through this holes i would like to display an image (see screen). So far it seems no problem. I created a solid rectangle with a single color. Then i created a bunch of smaller rectangles on top of these so i got a image like you can see in the screen (the one with the black boxes) shot. Now i struggle how i can cut these new elements out of the biq rectangle to get a kind of a filter mask. Any suggestions how i can do this? Or am i on a wrong way? Thanks for the help Regards
Staff MEB Posted April 20, 2015 Staff Share Posted April 20, 2015 Hello Aquablue71, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Select all the small rectangles and the base rectangle, then press subtract (boolean operation) from the toolbar on the top (the blue square and a grey circle with a minus inside). You can also press ⇧ (shift) while clicking on the subtract button to create a compound shape instead (a compound shape preserves the original objects used to create the new compound object - check the layers panel and click on the arrow near the compound layer to access the original objects) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
