Making a clipping path on all white background stock art

Recommended Posts

I just bought some clip art with a white background and I was hoping it would be super easy to select the image (without the white background) and drop it in to my collage. I thought the photo would come with a cutout but that doesn't appear to be the case. Is there an easy way to select those small details on the branches?

  1. Select the trunk using the Selection brush selectionbrushtool_lightui.png.ba0dcc85ab5ac48c187d118280744355.png
  2. Invert the selection: Select > Invert Pixel Selection
  3. Use: Filter > Colour >Erase White Paper.

If you don't isolate the trunk it will become translucent against a coloured background.

I got a bit carried away lol!
