AffinityPhoto-1.6.5.135 - Opening Image Files

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new to Photo, have used Photoshop for years, ditching it because of subscription based service-   I just installed Affinity Photo, no errors on the install-  On Windows 10 Pro. x64-
I cant open any image files in Affinity Photo-  I doesn't error, the status just shows that its "Loading 1 Document..." and stays that way 2min, 10mins, 30mins...   even for files that are 800k in size
(.png, .jpg, etc) --- however, if open the app, and create a new image file-  save it to the desktop-  exit the app-  then double click on the new image file  .afphoto,  it opens Affinity Photo, then loads up
the image- ??    some notes on my pc configuration:  my user account is a standard user (and not admin) so when I need to install applications, I have to use the local admin account-  when doing this, I install the application(s), into my users profile folder, so the user account should have full access- (noted by Affinity Photo, being able to open without issues- )   however, I'm not sure if this scenario might be whats causing the app, to not able to open other image formats- ???    although iv noticed my pc getting errors in the eventviewer that are GPO related, some of them security-  will keep digging
