Seamus Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I wish to send my photo to an external print house. I have received the ICC profile from the print house. I have worked in ProPhoto RGB and soft proofed using this ICC profile. Do I need to convert my file to the print house profile and save and then send it to them or does the action of soft proofing convert to the required ICC profile? Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 Soft-proofing does not convert. It just lets you see what your image will look like if printed with that profile, and make adjustments so it will look "right" to you. After soft-proofing you hide or delete the soft-proofing adjustment before printing the photo. I think the real question is, what does your print house expect. What did their instructions say, exactly? Seamus Posted February 16, 2019 Author Posted February 16, 2019 it is just puzzling in that when I apply the profile the image changes from that seen in soft proofing. Should I apply the profile and then soft proof? Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I'm not sure you should apply the profile at all, except during soft-proofing.
