DanYochim Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I'm new to Affinity and I'm trying to learn the Selection Brush Tool stepping through the Workbook, "Creating a selection", and "Refining a selection" sections. I spent many hours yesterday trying to select the building starting on page 105. I was only able to catch the outside of the building twice out of about 50 tries. It kept selecting multiple windows of the building. Today I was attempting to step through refining the picture starting on page 110. After four hours I still can't get the selection around the woman. I keep getting extraneous parts of the background in addition to the woman or it won't invert. I used the woman photo in Photoshop today and I was able to make it snap the first time. Can anyone tell me how to make selections easier in Affinity because I really need to move away from Photoshop. I'm running version 1.6.7 on a MacBook Pro running the Mojave OS. Thanks. Dan C Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Hi DanYochim, Welcome to the forums Sorry to hear you're having trouble, I've created 2 recordings below of each section you're having an issue with. For both selections, please select the background and then invert your selection, rather than selecting the building or model directly. I hope this helps.
