BDescription Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Hi, folks- I'm very new to Affinity and photography. Currently, I'm running on a 2015 MBP. I shoot in JPG, edit in Affinity, then convert to PNG. Not sure if this is the best approach? After I place the copyright symbol and name on my photos, I cannot go back and edit the text (this is after I export to PNG). I'm not sure why. Is there a way I could do this, or would I have to edit the original photo all over again? Thank you. Quote
R C-R Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 The PNG format does not support editable text or shapes, so when you export to it in Affinity Photo (or any other similar app) it everything is automatically 'baked' into a single image. Keep a copy of the edited file in the 'native' .afphoto file format if you want to be able to edit the text later, & export to PNG (or JPEG) as needed for sharing, web publishing, etc. Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
