red overlay mask

For those like me who haven't found how to add a red overlay when working layers
easy as .... The masking has be done with the selection brush only to this point ---- large screen image + very small brush > finger over the "Alt" key > hold Alt to switch quickly to remove > same finger can hold the spacebar to move image within screen. It's amazing how accurate it can be with a little practise and patiences .
as I have said before; being able to adjust brush size with mouse wheel would make it even faster/better imo. 
questions welcome if you cannot understand my words
other ways and comments welcome 
The subject is about 3-4" / 75-100mm long
