I have just bought a Nikon d7500 but cannot view any pictures taken in raw. I have downloaded the latest raw update for Mac but both Affinity photo and Photoshop Elements 13 show the files as read only. Anyone any ideas. Lance

Hi Coppernicked and Welcome to the Forums,

Just tested this with a sample from the D7500 and it opens in Affinity Photo without issue.  Where are you opening the images from and where are you seeing 'read only'?

Hi stokerg

I've been opening images from view nx which is Nikon's own photo viewer app. I've been using affinity photo for some time now and had no problems using my d7500. I have recently upgraded my camera to a d850 full frame (45megapixel) which produces much larger raw files (45-80mb), but have also been successfully editing photos for the last 2 weeks that I've had the camera until tonight when mid-processing a photo, it completely crashed. I have followed other advice and uninstalled/reinstalled the affinity app. I have used ^(ctrl) to reset all of the app's data to their default settings. The program will open ok, but as soon as I try to open a photo in order to edit it (from anywhere) the app simply crashes. It completely locks my MacBook and then shuts it down. If I'm lucky, it will restart on it's own. When this happens I can't even close the app, it simply freezes everything and forces the computer to shut down. All my other apps appear to be working fine and I can view photos using any number of programs, so I don't think it is a graphics issue. I have 32mb of ram which is the most this computer can have, so it's not a memory issue either. Also, these aren't corrupt files (read only) they're just normal raw files.
