Create slice from object doesn't honour clipping mask boundaries

Recommended Posts

When clicking the 'Create Slice' button in the Export Persona, if the selected object, layer, or group has any children objects that extend beyond the boundaries of its clipping mask or parent object, the slice that is created ignores the mask or parent boundaries and wraps the slice around the entire children objects content.

Is this possibly a bug?

I realize I could manually adjust the slice to wrap around the mask or parent object but doing so releases the slice from the object so that if I then move the object later in the Draw or Pixel Personas the slice would not travel with the object in the Export Persona.

Thanks.

Yeah I don't get this, surely I'm missing something.  I'm able to cut and paste a mask to make sure that it's consistent across a comp, but I have to draw the slices by hand every time and match it against the boundary line of that mask that is made invisible as soon as a start using the slice tool?
