Hello - new user here. I downloaded the trial version yesterday (1.6.4.104Trial)  and have been playing around with the software to see if it does what I need!

I've been searching (here and google) for answers to my questions on how to do things and I can't figure out if Affinity Designer is supposed to have an erase or a fill (for shapes drawn by lines) option. The answers I get continue to conflict with the affinity site telling me that these should be available. BUT, I think I have the latest version and I can't seem to see the buttons that I think other people have. Am I confused with features available on Affinity Photo? Are the features lacking because I have the trial version? Help? :)

Here's a screenshot of what Affinity designer toolbar looks like to me...

Hi Andrea

Affinity Designer has two main "workspaces" (or "Personas") depending on if you are creating vector art (Draw Persona), or editing photos (Pixel Persona).

You are currently in the Draw Persona.

If you draw a shape with the Pen tool, there is a Fill option on the Context Toolbar (third from the top).

If you click on the Pixel Persona,

There is a different set of tools for editing Pixel images, that includes an eraser.

You can also use that to erase part of a vector shape. It does that by creating a mask.

There is another Persona (the third button) which is the Export Persona, but that is mainly for creating images for the web.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
