summer_dayze
This is my first time trying to import RAW photos to edit in Affinity. I've copied the photos from my camera (Fujifilm xa3) to my desktop, then opened in Develop Persona. I can't figure out why the images appear almost blank - they are mostly white with a few coloured pixels, and the image is changed to a square. What am I doing wrong?? Please help! Staff MEB Posted May 11, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 11, 2018 Hi summer_dayze, Welcome to Affinity Forums With the RAW file opened go to menu View ▸ Assistant Manager... and set the first dropdown (RAW engine) to Apple (Core Image RAW). Close and re-open the image again. It should now display properly for you (i'm assuming you are running High Sierra - if you are still running Sierra your camera is not supported using Apple's engine). Currently we don't support your camera model using our RAW engine (Serif Labs), it should be added in a future update. summer_dayze
Thank you MEB, that helped! Though now when I open the file, I get a duplicate image in the top corner or sometimes on the side. Is this an import issue?? Yes I'm on High Sierra. Thanks!
Staff MEB Posted May 11, 2018 Staff Share Posted May 11, 2018 Hi summer_dayze, Oh This is known issue that's affecting some RAW formats when opened in Affinity using Apple's RAW engine. Seems Fujifilm X-A3 RAW is also affected. I will add this to the existing bug report and will bump it. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you. The only thing i can suggest is to use Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAW file into a DNG file that (hopefully) Affinity will open without issues. I haven't tried this yet but i will take a look to see if it works properly and will get back to you.
