Hi:  Running Affinity Photo on my MacBook Pro.

-I have a photo document opened.

-I make a selection somewhere in that document.

-I want to make that selection a layered image on the original photo document.

-I ALSO want to be able to drag that selection to another open document in Affinity.

I can do this in about 5 seconds in Photoshop, but cannot figure out how to do this in Affinity.

If you make a selection and press Cmd + J (Layer > Duplicate) it will copy the selection onto a new layer.

You will have to Copy and Paste that layer to a new document.

Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.

Fantastically simple.  What I really like about the Affinity process for this move is, once the layer is active, I can manipulate many characteristics of the layer without going thru additional steps or menu's.  Continuing the learning process and becoming less concerned about moving away from the big PS monster!

I appreciate your prompt reply!
