  1. Ok, that helped. This was a Photoshop doc and I don't recall doing anything to the document, other than opening it in Affinity. I deleted all of the other text blocks in this doc and was able to enter a line of test text. I'm sure over time I'll see the benefits of using Affinity, but for now it's very counter-intuitive, most likely due to PS muscle memory. I appreciate the replies.
  2. Hello RC-R. Solution didn't work, or I did something wrong. When I select the Move Tool, I do get the bounding box. (see attached screenshot) Clicking "T", does not give me the Text one. I get crosshairs with the letter T next to the crosshairs.
  3. Hi: Having no luck at all; very simple procedure in Photoshop. I have a text layer containing a person's name. All I want to do is change the name. In PS, I double click the layer, the text is highlighted and I can type in the new name. In Affinity, when I double click the layer in the layer's palate, I get the blue line around the text block, but the cursor does nothing. Can't highlight the text to change it. I'm wasting time.
  4. Thanks; will give them a try. My confusion was, to make a quick brightness adjustment in Photoshop sometimes I had no desire to make an adjustment layer, the adjustment just worked without making a layer. Affinity seems to automatically make an adjustment layer that shows in the layers panel. I appreciate the suggestions!
  5. Hi: I have a 2-layer image. I want to make a curves adjustment in one of the layers, NOT having an effect on the other layer. I have the desired layer selected and in Photoshop, I'd make the curves adjustment (Cmd-M), and my move would only adjust my desired layer. In Affinity, the adjustment changes both layers on the image equally. What am I doing incorrectly?
  6. Fantastically simple. What I really like about the Affinity process for this move is, once the layer is active, I can manipulate many characteristics of the layer without going thru additional steps or menu's. Continuing the learning process and becoming less concerned about moving away from the big PS monster! I appreciate your prompt reply!
  7. Hi: Running Affinity Photo on my MacBook Pro. -I have a photo document opened. -I make a selection somewhere in that document. -I want to make that selection a layered image on the original photo document. -I ALSO want to be able to drag that selection to another open document in Affinity. I can do this in about 5 seconds in Photoshop, but cannot figure out how to do this in Affinity.
  8. Hi: My name is Chris; freelance photographer in the Upper Midwest, USA. Finally using Affinity Photo for meaningful projects and with my use of C1Pro for my assignments requiring tethering, I completely killed my link to the Adobe cloud subscription service. One question. Interested in your workbooks for Affinity Photo & Designer, BUT, what happens when you update your software, rendering some of the tutorials somewhat outdated? IS there a chance that you'd make the workbooks available as an ePub that I can review on my iPad while doing work? ePub format would also allow your team to release more immediate workflow updates. Thanks for your continued development on your suite of software!
  9. Hi: Chris here. Working photographer and learning Affinity on the 10.5 iPad Pro. When the new Files app is functional on IOS 11, will I be able to import raw files from my SD card onto a folder in the files app, and then import the raws from that folder into Affinity on the iPad. IF yes, after processing the raws in Affinity, will I be able to export the finished jpgs to another designated folder on the iPad. In summary, I want the structure to function like my Mac finder system!
  10. Hello: Name is Chris. I'm a pro photog (using Mac's), that has been unsuccessfully attempting to integrate my iPad into an efficient workflow since the tablet's inception. To date, the iPad has been pretty worthless as a true production workflow tool for a working photographer IMO. I'm hoping Affinity & the iPad Pro 10.5 could be the beginning to a solution. Don't yet own the software (mac or IOS), but I heard Affinity IOS discussed at the recent WWDC conference. Will be purchasing the 10.5 iPad Pro to replace my Air-1. I've been trying to find out without success if the 10.5 Pro, using Apple's new lightning to usb-3 camera adapter https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter will allow me to attach a USB-3 CF card reader but more important, a USB-3 external hard drive. With it's built in USB-C power port, I'm hoping this adapter will allow one to FINALLY connect a USB-3 ext hard drive that requires bus power to function. IF all of that works ;) either just a USB-3 CF card reader or external USB-3 drive, can I import images thru this dongle into the Affinity IOS app? That's my first question. IS there files' interaction between Affinity IOS and MacOS? Does Affinity IOS support Canon Raws, and Leica DNG raw files? Does Affinity IOS support some level of batch process? Don't expect 1000 batch files to process (that'd be nice), but at least a few dozen would be nice. Thanks for allowing me to ramble on my first post!
