IceB8 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I saw the release notes. "Save overwrites back to the same location, without needing to create a copy." Can anyone confirm whether this allows for dropping a photo from the Photos app into Affinity, and saving the changes over top the original photo in Photos? The only thing holding me back from purchasing this is the inability to save over the original instead of saving a copy. Thanks! Quote
DM1 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 No, not in the way you would expect. When you open a file and make changes and save the file an afphoto file is created. When you save this and make further changes it overwrites the file. To save and overwrite an edited image without creating a .afphoto file you need to flatten the image if layers have been added. If you import a photo from iOS photos, edit it and export it back to iOS photos it creates a new edited file in whatever export format you chose. You can save this file anywhere.
