Albut Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Will this be supported in Affinity Photo so enhancements can be applied as in some iOS apps. Regards AB Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 2, 2018 Staff Posted January 2, 2018 Hi Albut and Welcome to the Forums, I'm not 100% sure i've understood the question. The True Depth option is a feature of the front camera on the iPhone, which works out the best way to generate a depth of field effect (a very simple explanation of the feature). So what enhancements would you be looking to apply? Quote
Albut Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 When I open a photo in Affinity, taken with the iPhone X, there seems to be no option to take advantage of the depth of field as in other apps. All I get is the photo and would need to select foreground or background to make any adjustments. For example in another app I’m able to adjust the bokeh or lighting or blur type for the photo. Even the depth at which I want this to take place. The background or foreground already being in effect selected by the iPhone X camera system. Take a look at focos to see what I mean. Hope this helps. Regards AB Quote
Staff stokerg Posted January 2, 2018 Staff Posted January 2, 2018 Hi Albut, Thanks for the extra information. Focos is running on the iPhone itself, so i suspect that has a lot to do with how that app works. From reading up on this link it sounds like Focus is accessing the 3D depth info created by the camera when the photo was taken, allowing you to alter either the background or foreground. Unless that information starts gettings passed along with the original photo or we create an iPhone app, i can't see us being able to access that information in order to change how it appears. Quote
Albut Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 Oh OK. Thanks for the prompt response. Excellent support Quote
