How are the future (major) upgrades/upgrade discounts planned for licenses bought at the Windows Store? Steam Store, for example, allows the developers to create a separate App which replaces the older version of the App in the store. Existing users can then chose to continue with their existing version or can buy the upgraded version at a discounted price using Steam coupon codes provided by the vendor (available in users inventory).

I want to know how the major upgrades are planned for those who are buying at the Windows Store? Will they get any discount if they already own an earlier version of the same product at Windows Store?

I ask this because I see a considerable price difference between the pricing at Windows Store and at affinity.store and am inclined to buy it from the Windows Store. So, I want to know what are the long term risks for buying the product at the Windows Store.

Hi Artist,

Welcome to the forums.

When updates to 1.X are available the app should prompt and download and update the app automatically from the Windows Store, these are free. When it's decided that we should develop and release a version 2.X this will be a paid for upgrade and this is when decisions may be made with regards to offering discounts for existing users.
